I suspect there remains clubs as described. I caddied for one in the fifties, an all-Jewish club near Lawrenceville NJ. I don't see it listed any longer.
Can't recall the name. Green..acres?

The club I caddied at (North Hempstead CC) on Long Island was pretty much like that except that they were all Catholics with maybe a few Protestants in the mix. No Jews to my knowledge. Brentwood CC in the stories very much resembles it.

Hi Jim,
A good chapter somewhat summarizing the match as it's told to abbey, and a smooth transition to the next event between these four characters.
I forgot all about that prank.
Nicely written...

Thanks, John. The story will shift gears for a while before getting back to some golf action.

Chugging along well, Jim. Got to tell you, I went to a company golf day, blundered around having arrived late with some friends, last on the course, got in trouble for not collecting the pins or something, and won a bottle of Tia Maria for closest to the pin on some hole - I had no idea!

That's funny. One of the best prizes I ever won in an outing was when my Dad invited me to play in a liquor salesman's outing when I was about 20. I came in 2nd low net and won two bottles of Wild Turkey bourbon.

Eddie really did push it too much as far as the golf club was concerned. He doesn't seem to care, however. It's a good thing Kenny really likes him because he seems easy to hate.

I'll be showing another side to him pretty soon.
I've got another short story about Eddie's attempt to get reinstated at the club which I will post some day soon. It will also feature Kenny and E.J.

What a final sentence to your chapter: "He was standing in the parking lot facing the clubhouse with his arms raised and the middle finger of each hand pointing to the sky." Eddie was indeed quite a character -- a kind of "love him or hate him" kinda guy. This was a good finale for their escapade.

Thank you, Jay. That's the last we'll see of Eddie at Brentwood. However, I have another short story where he makes a return to Brentwood, at least briefly, which also features Kenny and E.J.

I guess a lot of golf "clubs" would be pretty snooty places with only the well-heeled being able to afford playing, although I had friends who weren't particularly wealthy playing, great story, with Eddie being dismissed from membership, well done Jim, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. I've got another story where Eddie attempts to get readmitted to the club which I'll post another time. E.J. and Kenny are in it too.

Looking forward Jim

I honestly believe Eddie will return. LOL I really like this story and it's well written.
he returned with the beers, and we all sat down at a table (You can omit 'down'. It's understood.)

He won't be returning to Brentwood in this story, but we'll see plenty more of him before the end.
He actually returns to Brentwood in another story that I will post here some day. That will just be a long short story, though, featuring E.J. and Kenny too. Glad you're enjoying this one, Barbara.
