You have described a lovely scene here. I know a few places where peace descends as soon as you enter it. There is one place in particular in the Bear Tooth Mountains of Montana that I visited once. I often go back there in my memory when I need a peaceful moment.

Beautiful flash fiction entry, romantically and sensitively expressed in great detail with evocative imagery. The image completes a perfectly worked presentation. Good luck in the contest, Debbie

Hmm, as the subtitle suggests, this post leans heavily into description and drawing a picture for the reader to see or even to 'feel' the environment.
And then... nothing. That's it. It paints a serene picture, but what of a story? Are there elements of a story? A beginning, a middle, a resolution, a plot?

I never have sixes left past Tuesday of the week, but thankfully this week I do. So much sad with so few words, and words I can relate back to those times in the woods as a boy, just sitting, watching, and listening. Thanks for sharing.

Beautifully written. I have a place just like that! You have a wonderful sense of word relations: "A canopy of tightly entangled branches turned off the sun"
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful view.

This is an interesting surreal kind of post, dream like with a dream like vision. Here you seem to create a religion of nature, a religion wherein all the people around you seem to have disappeared and you are left alone in a paradise of peaceful nature. I like the detailed descriptions of the pastoral woodland scene, and I think the title Silent Symphony is quite evocative of this peaceful mood you want to create. estory

I can relate to your words. Nature provides comfort and peace. I like your description of nature as a "silent symphony". The silence of nature is soothing and brings peace to the soul. Excellent words here that take the reader to another place.

A beautiful short story, whether fiction or non-fiction, doesn't matter. It breathes serenity and peace with a cathedral-like atmosphere - a silent symphony. The image is perfect. Best wishes for your entry.

I really enjoyed reading this short 75 word story. The writing is concise and descriptive. The woodland and nature and all its sights and sounds is one of my very favourites places to centre. I particularly like this line - A canopy of tightly entangled branches turned off the sun. Nicely done on this most uplifting and peaceful read.

Excellent work! Your word choice is distinguished and used purposefully, which can be hard to condense into Flash Fiction. Best of luck in the contest!
