Congratulations on the win. You did a great job describing the darkness of depression. There are several lines in the poem that I can relate to. I remember as a teen or young adult reading that 50% of poets end up institutionalized at some point in their lives. I stopped writing for a while hoping to avoid that. I can't help writing though and, as you state, it helps.

I relate to this poem because this is where I am presently at. Many suffer with mild to serve depression daily. This poem reminds me of my poem, The Show Must Go On". The visual fits perfectly. Like your poem. We should never give up if we love life. Life is rather precious. Many times we have bad days and we seem to not always accept or overcome our sad feelings.

I think everyone at times feel like this as life is life a roller coaster ride and sometimes we can't get off, yet other times the ride stops and we can regain our pathway
I think poetry is also a good medium for releasing thoughts
and gives one a chance to release the inner demon that keeps us in a state of flux
Keep writing and the light is within your grasp to extinguish the darkness
