Your Grandpapa sure is a fine looking gentleman to be turning 90 soon. Although most of us won't make it, for those who do, I wish them many more. Thanks for sharing.

He ability to still round-up cows, and plant and tend a monstrous garden, and do it with absolutely no help is amazing. A self-made man, for sure.

And that's why God created the blanket, so the older he "gets" he can have a wide variety in which to choose.

A good one liner, Tom.

And we live to see another day...
Cheers,
John

The more we share the closer I feel relative. I think I?ll leave to buy an electric blanket
    Do they still make them?
reply by jmdg1954 on 22-Mar-2023
That I?m not sure. I remember them being a fire hazard moons ago.

Haven't seen one advertised. Wait a sec. I'll be back. Ok. They are still sold. Walmart, of course, JCPenney and kohl's have them. :-)

A wonderful photo, and the poem's not bad either. But it may only apply to males, as I find the older I get, the hotter (in revolting sweaty phases) I get.
Perhaps that could be the message of your next one-liner! JL

Hi there! This is awesome! The look on his face is priceless and your words are a perfect fit! I could totally see my Grandpa saying the same. Thank you so much for sharing with us all.

Five words only, but oh! So full of meaning. We're all getting there Tom, but I think we might transform that sentence, and use this one instead: The Older I Get, the GOLDER (I know It doesn't exist!) I get!!!
Old is Gold!!!
Nice post

This one-line poem, Light Me a Fire. Why?, uses eight words and reminds those of us who appreciate it that we gets colder when we older. Get me a blanker, Tom.

a blanker? An unfamiliar term. Hope you would like my entry. It takes a lot for me to spend one of two daily entries saying so much in so few words when verbosity sits on my shoulders.

    Blanket, of course.
If the urge to keep writing comes, I turn to Google docs and park them there.

I'd say grandpapa looks pretty good for his age. I'm not so sure "gets" is accepted as proper English in the way you used it, but is understood and toleraded. lol

The elderly are vulnerable to telemarketing calls sometimes but I expect this guy can deal with them perfectly. Cold calling requires a steely inner core and we need to deal with them with a frozen heart. On the other hand I think we do feel the cold physically when we get older, poor circulation and sedentary lifestyles make us cold. A poignant write with a double meaning here Tom, love Dolly x

Grandpapa has handled it. He doesn't answer ANY calls. Make it challenging for my wife, his daughter, as every question he has is handled by her. Still, he is worth all the tea in China, or perhaps Boston Harbor, at least.
