Great picture, great words. We certainly feel cold more with age, I gets it (sorry, I couldn't help myself). As always, reviewing your work is a pleasure. Evi

Gets I get, but GET I wouldn't want for my best Jewish friend! GET for them is a decree of divorce. I, too, could not help elucidate the knowledge I have. tee-hee

For being 90, your grandfather still looks spry! True, as we get older, we feel the cold more. I bought my husband a heater and electric blankets and he is still cold.
A great one-liner and I wish you good luck in the contest.
Best wishes,
Mary

Fantastic photograph. I love it. I agree with your sentiment. I moved 5000 kilometres fromy birthplace at 42 degrees south latitude to enjoy warmer climes in my early thirties. Great font. Best of luck Tom. Jacqueline

-Thanks for sharing the photo and notes, Tom. Good for your grandpa!
-I like your comment about adding to the one line poem.
-You did a good job with it and the presentation.
-I'm not as old as grandpa, but I get cold, too. Probably have always been that way.
-Good luck in the contest.

Do thoughts come to you in the middle of the night that leave you restless until first light, or do you get out of bed, plant a note on your W.I.P. folder and try to sleep or finish the thought before returning to sleep? That's how this piece came to be. Didn't take long and sleep was improved.
-
I would rather sleep than think about my thoughts, but they don't come to me, anyway. Thanks for sharing how you came up with this, and I am glad your sleep was improved.
-
As nice as you are, I might dream of your comments tonight. :-)

Your reply is appreciated, Tom. Maybe those comments will float along in your head.

Very true. People will relate. Here we older ones have great difficulty with the heat. Last week it was still over 100 at 7 pm, with 99 pc humidity. Ugh. Either extreme is hard. Best wishes for your entry.

No, I think during the night and my brain keeps working on things (and during light sleep) but I don?t get up and write. I just am restless and sleep lightly, then drag around the next day. Then repeat. That?s why I have wound back and not doing any poetry for the last little while. Just prose.

Hey, I am writing more short stories than prose. Seems the earth is not the only thing spinning around.

Hi Tom, this is a poem of truth, as I sit here complaining that my feet are still cold even though I'm wearing extra-thick, fluffy socks. This is a poem that many can/will relate to. Great photo choice. Well done. A pleasure to read. This poem made me smile and laugh just a bit. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. Stay warm, Margaret

I never-ever have been cold until crossing the age bridge to being seventy-five. Now and then, I get the shivers, and need two blankets in bed when previously I needed only a sheet. Go figure.
-
My husband is experiencing the same thing. So far, for me, it?s only my feet. Spring will be here before we know it. Amen.
-
Strange creatures, men. I was forever hot, sweaty, and couldn't stay covered, now I have my go to bed sheet, a coverlet and a throw. By the way I sleep on a leather sofa and have since Jan 22 after rotor cuff surgery. I do not toss and turn at all.
-
I hear you, Tom. We have some of the same situations in this house. These days, my husband cannot get warm. I'm ok, except for my feet. That's a new one. Spring in coming. Hang in there. M

Your contest entry made perfect sense, Tom. The
picture was perfect. The color scheme worked well
to highlight your well thought out words. I liked the
rhymes older/colder.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

No problem esp since you explained it in notes.

I'll avoid your name so that it doesn't conflict with the contest entry....
This one line poem perfectly sums up my entire cold weather angst with COLD FEET!!!

Well done with this, yep, so they say, I live in a reasonably temperate climate so I can't say I feel the cold terribly much, but I think perhaps the system is not quite as efficient as it once was. Good luck, blessings Roy.

This too will pass with time. I hope that life beyond will be sublime without the fluctuations we now get to experience.
