What a great poem for this Minute Poem challenge! And I am glad for the relationships formed through cyberspace but we also have to "fight the fight" in real life and fill our roles in those relationships, too. Best wishes in the contest!

This is a very well presented and interesting poem.
I'm happy because my grown-up kids have quite balanced lives. They use their computers, tablets... but they also exercise, study and go out with their friends.
The little one is studying Video Game Design at University. :)

You see this behavior all the time. People don't talk to their neighbor anymore. They sit down, and out come their phones. They write messages to their friends, or play silly games. Life is passing them by. Real life, that is. They seem to be content to spend their time in cyberspace, the pretend world.
I love the Minute poetic form. And yours is well-written.
My favorite lines,
"Don't live your whole life from a chair
Come up for air"
You really notice this behavior in the waiting room of a doctor or dentist.

And they call it the future. Mechanical toys for mechanical boys. Family forgotten. I liked your poem because in enforced my hatred of cell phone that steal normal and happy families. The kids grow fat and lazy because of the addiction. Parents, wake up!

I know I know, here I am sis, lagging behind again. Lol... but I am here, I got the surgery dates for June 14 and 28th. Then I will be over to your place to review your work. Put the coffee pot on, and I will bring the donuts. Lololol.
I am so excited to see real stuff again. I hate that it is in the summer again, but you and I have had many setbacks and we don't worry about the small stuff. And since you hate cellphones, I won't call first. Hahahaha. Thanks Sweetie for the great review/

Wot sort of surgery possum?

Easy part will be cataracts for both eyes. But about 3 years ago I had shingles real bad in the retinas of my eyes, and at first it started out pretty, everything pretty. I thought I had the most beautiful Christmas tree in the world. Then I found out that my eyes were magnifying immensely and then it got serious. Now they are going to try to repair some of the damage. Not that I don't enjoy all the brightly lit Ferris wheels, but nobody will stop them and let me get off. Lol

With respect) I think your sense of humor hides the fear within. You are always bubbly and bright, thinking of others. Surgery is not funny. I have had 32 ops, 9 transfusions and finally an amputation. So, I do know the inner man is shaking. K xx

Lol, yes of course it is frightening my sweet friend. It truly is hard to fool another who knows it too well. I have actually had 50 plus operations, only because from childhood they started already from DES injections that my mom had to take to save me. So many illnesses right from birth to nowadays. Nonstop, but I do count my blessings. Most DES babies died before 35. So I was blessed. Many transfusions too and almost everything is because I started off really early and they figured that it averaged out to be 8 per decade, even tho some decades less and some more. Fortunately I never had the amputation and I do pray for you with that. But girl, I laugh about things, because nobody wants to hear the complaining. And I don't want to chase people away from me. My mom really was the brave one. On her death bed, painful pancreatic cancer, and no food or even water for three weeks, they thought she would die right away. She didn't and three weeks later, she squeaked out Debi, feed me, I am hungry. I thought I would die, as it hurt me so bad that we let them do that to her. Yet she continued to say. Others have it worse than I do. I just wanted to scream, NAME ONE!! So I am trying to model the same grace she had. I have had some dandy big and small, but you probably have too and I am glad we have each other's friendship. Thanks again.

I am a clown too. Make folks laugh and feel good. We know inside has been mended by the Lord. He needed us to work for Him, this I believe. Our higher self takes over when we suffer. Jesus is always by our side but, in the end it is up to us. We both have had many blessings amongst the tragedies. Panda Bear hugs and much love Noddy! K xx

Yes, some people do stand at their desk. Some businesses have standing desks available for their employees. They're actually pretty cool.

(Without a face, indeed. I'm beginning to think that many of our young people have low self-esteem and lack self-confidence. They are socially inept. This is what happens when parents use the TV and the computer as a babysitter. The art of small talk and basic social graces has been lost.)

Hello Poet, the world is lost in cyberspace, and they have captured our brains. Our youth is being brainwashed. Your poem reads and flows well and your message is clear. Yes, some people do stand at their desk. Some businesses have standing desks available for their employees. They're actually pretty cool.
