Thank you so much for sharing about Dr. Fiona Wood! What a remarkable woman! And she was dedicated to raise her family even while pursuing the demanding career of a doctor. Loved learning about the spray made of the patient's own cells! Congratulations on the second place win!!

Down through the ages, humanity has committed a tremendous blunder by suppressing or preventing accomplishments of women and whoever ar that time was considered by those in power to be unqualified or undeserving; and by current Leftist pressure through corrupt media and indoctrinated "teachers" -- on all levels from college down to preschool -- to hate each other over petty differences of all kinds and/or to consider themselves incapable or worthy of rising to their peak potential.

We have no way to know how much better our lives would be all over the world, had we and our leaders been wise enough to avoid such folly; and right now we are regressing rather than learning that key lesson, as doing so would threaten the self-appointed globalist "elites" in their attempt to totally control the rest of us, regardless of the suffering and deaths such a policy has always caused.

The women lauded in the biographies entered in this contest celebrating Women's History Month were smart, determined, and hard working enough to achieve their beneficial goals, and are all well deserving of whatever recognition and satisfaction they received (and probably more).

Dr. Fiona Wood stands out from the other five because she is still alive and diligently working at her mission to reduce the physical, emotional, and mental damage caused by severe burns, and already has had worldwide success with her spray-on skin technique, with other new technologies in progress. At her present age of sixty-five, she may have many more years to further develop her burn-relief methods. While all the others made great strides in their specific pursuits, they were mostly limited to one country; but Dr. Wood's contributions to humanity are both global and not even finished yet. Only the Lord knows what else she will do for us all. For that reason, much as I liked all the others, I was compelled to vote for this superb post. May she have many more joyful years as a busy Earth Angel among us.

You are most welcome, Wendy. Your essay about Dr. Wood clearly shows that neither wealth nor fame matter to her, only her goals of helping others as effectively as possible while raising her growing family without interference. She is highly successful with both -- a feat in itself. In the long run, her inventions and methods will benefit more people than what all the other candidates combined accomplished -- unless the evil "elites" restrict who may have use of them. -- Mike

I n our country there is a pretty good health and hospital system and in an emergency situation there is full equality and treatment for all regardless of whether they are rich or poor, no matter the race or creed. Government has no say.it?s good and usually works effectively. A shortage of doctors at present means that people without private health insurance have to wait a bit longer if it?s not an emergency.

This is a fascinating story about an extraordinary woman. Her accomplishments are extensive and exceptional, especially the spray-on skin. It is also remarkable that she is the mother of six children. Thank you for introducing her to us. Best wishes in the contest.

This is a wonderful entry into the Celebrate Women's History Month contest. The text is a great size for reading. That's especially important with long pieces of prose. I like all the information you shared about this hardworking, miracle giving doctor. I love learning and by you sharing Dr. Wood's story I learned about a great lady I didn't know. Your writing is presented with clarity. Your visual fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.

What a wonderful woman who believed in health procedures and saving other people. She is a remarkable, a miracle woman. How old is she? Can she provide health procedures yet for severe burns?

Hi Rosemary, she has just turned 65. Oh yes, all her work is for people with very severe burns, all the extreme cases of horrendous burns - over 90% of their body sometimes. Without her care these people would have died. She is still doing more research right to this day. She's brought about a worldwide transformation in burns treatment. Many thanks for the Exceptional review and six stars. I appreciate that a lot.

What a wonderful example of intelligence and determination! When combined with compassion, Dr. Fiona Wood has transformed burn care worldwide!

Imagine the great loss for the world if she had been stymied in her career because no women plastic surgeons were on staff...

Amazing biographical essay! I'm off to read more about spray on skin...

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for calling attenttion to this wonder woman who continues to live on even today. Her story is amazing. I'd never heard of the spray on skin treatment for burn victims. What a breakthrough. This is a well-written account. I hope I cab see the documentary about her.

What a marvellous story! Hooray for Fiona's dedication, knowledge, and compassion... so very deserved that she should be acknowledged as a contributor to women's history and culture. You have brought her story to life in a most readable manner... very engaging. I knew some background to the Bali bombings and aftermath but your detailed facts made the story fascinating.
The daughter of a friend of mine here in NZ had an uphill battle to be admitted to plastic surgery, due to being a woman and the expectation that she would have babies and require leave (even though NZ has a pseudo proud record of 'equality'). So she went to Australia and is now a noted professional in Melbourne.

Thank you so much fpor a wonderful review, and for the exceptional rating and six stars. All are greatly valued. Perhaps what pleases me most is that you enjoyed and related to her story, and were thoughtful about it remembering the similar experience of a NZ lady plastic surgeon. Thanks again.

No, I had not heard of Fiona Wood until I read your piece though I hadn't heard of most of the women submitted for the contest. I like that you chose to highlight a woman whose contributions are more recent. It's amazing and disheartening that women still face such rejection and ridicule simply on the basis of being a woman. Such dedication and determination in the face of such odds is beyond amazing.
Thank you so much for sharing the story of a truly innovative woman! Best wishes in the contest!

Writer,
What a fantastic story of grit, determination and success for the coal miners daughter!

I am not trying to be corny by saying, she has been and continues to be a real life super hero.

This is a great entry into the Women's History Months challenge which I can say, blew mine away! Congrats.
