Another great story. By the third strike, and the fact that Bobby kept reading books, I knew he would have a great outcome. But, I didn't expect how great, even though I read Bobby stood before an array of colors. "Batter up, Mr. President," was a surprising and satisfying ending.

Well written from beginning to end (which I didn't see coming.)
I was busy recollecting my own failures with the baseball bat. Ha,ha.
Some people wait a lifetime for success and die failures- but not Bobby.

You describe well the atmosphere on the field and the feelings and running thoughts of the young batter. We feel for him as he is ridiculed on and off the field. But, head held high, he chooses the better game and succeeds. Well done!

Great story John. I have 3 grandson. Two of them are very athletic and very successful. The third one could be Bobby. He did not excel at any sport he tried. But as an adult- he shines.

Looks like Bobby pushed the peer pressure to the side and concentrated on talents he did have on other areas. Now he has become the best he can be and they cheer him for what he is.
This is a great story for children, and for all of us really. If you don't succeed in one thing, try another until you find what you are good at and what you love to do.
