I surely did learn a great deal from your interesting post. I know I don't want to swim in your waters or run into your snakes, though I might like to watch kangaroos hopping down the street. After due consideration, I think I'll stay right here in North Carolina and the USA, where we sometimes run (accidentally) into deer on the highway and often see them in our yards. They, like the kangaroos, are not the golfer's friends always.

Wow. How interesting. I honestly never knew much of Australia until I joined FanStory, which has quite a few subscribers.

Wendy, I'm fascinated by all this. It does appear to be a continent of deadly creatures. I guess any vid it it would welcome a home grown as a guide.

So nicely presented.
Best of luck in the contest.

Good morning, Wendy!
What an exceptionally well-crafted piece of non-fiction writing.
Australia is on my bucket list, and I now have a better understanding of many of its characteristics and, of course, kangaroos!
Your writing is welcoming and entertaining.
I am familiar with Brits referring to mathematics as "maths," as our son-in-law is British. Must admit, it's very difficult to wrap my head around that expression as is "Going to hospital" as opposed to "Going to THE hospital!"

Much enjoyed!
Best wishes!

I can remember a couple of kangaroo, bounding down a main highway over here in SA, I think the tallest kangaroo was an eastern grey which recorded at 2.5 metres (9feet 2inches) apparently there 50 million and 6 breeds, you'll find red back spiders here but no funnel webs. Well done Wendy, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy. Great review. Yes, every so often there's a kangaroo incident which makes the news! I still feel safe here, because we don't have a gun culture. Wildlife is fine if you leave it alone.

Thank you Tom. I am glad you enjoyed this story. There are a lot more animals to talk about - one of these days.

Excellent contest entry. Very well written and quite informative.
Maths is one of those words that tickle my wife and I. I'm sure we have plenty that offer the same reaction in the Empire. Whilst is another.
Great entry in the contest. Good luck.

I always smile about "Math" because Mathematics is plural and includes algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics etc asbranches. One of the fun cultural differences. I take it you don't use "whilst"?
Thanks so much for reviewing, and for your good wishes!

This is a very well-researched and written piece, Wendy, and an interesting read. There are a lot of animals in that land down under of yours! We have alligators in Florida, but not crocodiles, and we find them on our golf courses, not on Main Street:-)

Thanks for sharing your country with us.

You have said enough to scar me to death here Wendy. I have visited Australia and my sister lives there. She is more scared of the wildlife than I am! She has her house sprayed regularly and won't on in the pool until it has been checked for funnel web spiders! I remember Skippy the Bush Kangaroo and that repeating song! Ha ha ha, Kangaroos are cute enough, but never cross one, otherwise they will punch you eyes out! I know they introduced camels into Australia and they became feral! Did you know about that Wendy? I loved your write about all of Australian's dangerous creatures, Keep your head down Wendy, especially when pegging out the washing! Ha ha ha, Love Dolly x

Oh no I didn?t mention ALL of them. Lots more. Oh yes camels too but we don?t see them much. I feel much safer here than in a society where guns are carried freely. Lol. Pegging out washing is safe!! Thanks so much for a wonderful review.

Of course you are safe Wendy, dealing with wild life is not the same as dealing with humans carrying guns! Your country is beautiful and I have always enjoyed staying there x x x

And then there is the wallaby. Smaller than than the kangaroo I believe. Perhaps another day you will enlighten us with the wallaby's story as a companion piece to this, which was a really good read.

Thank you so much. Yes, wallabies too need a mention. And there are lots more. Even so I feel safer here than in a society where guns are freely carried. We don?t see too much of the dangerous animals. I used to pass within a metre of a red- bellied black snake when walking Sunny, but we don?t disturb him and they won?t attack unless provoked. I?d check on him every day. Haven?t seen him lately though.

Very good article about crocodiles, floods and kangaroos in Australia. That's pretty cool actually catch you later for the answers I like it!
This is extremely well written to give you a lot of fun facts and insight to different living in another continent.
Looks like the grammar is good and I don't see any spelling errors or sentences structure issues. Word choices good. Amazingly well done! This is a really good submission good luck and have a great night!
