This is a well written, fascinating story told in clear and concise, smooth flowing language. Your detailed descriptions enables the reader to envision each scene. It is amazing that a wild bear would remember an individual person and bus over a twenty-year period. Thank you for sharing this phenomenal story. Best wishes in the contest.

This was such a well-written, amusing, and fantastical story of the relationship between a man and a bear that grew over the years. Dogs and cats seem to be fond of people, why not polar bears too? Whether or not you confused a few details, it was still a heartwarming, wonderful story. Great job! Jim

This story, Cuddly Apex Predator, is so much fun as well as astounding. You followed so well this relationship with animal and human interactions and bear memory. So glad the story had a happy conclusion.

You did a great job with your contest entry, Debi,
I loved reading it. I was engaged from start to finish.
What an amazing encounter Dennis had over many
years. You related it well. Your words were well thought
out and descriptive. I agreed with you about only seeing
polar bears in a zoo.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan
Do you remember these little babies? RIP Klondike & Snow.

Thank you for sharing this fascinating story! And although it sounds very enticing to seek out friendships with wild animals, I completely agree with you about keeping our distance from a predator like a polar bear. Enjoyed your retelling and hope this does well in the contest!

    Hi Helen,
Thank you for the insightful comments. Yeah, staying away from wild animals is wise, especially pedators.
I am so glad you enjoyed the story.

This is an amazing story. I've heard of the bond like this with wild animals, but it was usually the result of a human rescuing an animal or their offspring, even when they years passed by. This Polar Bear story is epic, since it's about a real friendship that lasted over the years. Thanks for sharing.

Very nicely written. Good work.
I expect Dennis was safe enough, considering the long term relationship and consistent absence of hostile behavior. Anyone else would be a complete different story.
Good luck in the contest.

What an amazing story. Dennis is so lucky to have found a bond with a wild animal. I love the name and how the bear earned it. As to meeting one, I'm with you--keep my distance. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

    Hi Shari,
Thank you for the shiny six stars and the comments about the story. Yeah, I think he was lucky to bond with a bear, and lucky not to be eaten when he decided to play with him outside the buggy.
Thank you for the good luck wishes. I appreciate you stopping by.

I really enjoyed this story. I've head of people forming such a relationship with black or brown bears but I've never head of any such thing with a polar bear. I've saw a documentary once where a bear played with a husky, but mostly, you hear the negative stories. Thanks for sharing this delightful story.

    Hi Mary Shifman,
Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed the story and sharing your insights about people making friends with black and brown bears. I'm not sure I'm courageous enough to try that with something that could just as easily eat me as be friends.
    Have a great day.

I enjoyed reading about Dennis and Dancer. It is quite a wonderful tale. It is amazing when a relationship is formed between a wild animal and a human. But like you, I will admire polar bears in the zoos. Excellent story for this contest.

    Hi mermaids,
I appreciate your insightful remarks. Yeah, too scary for me to want to even be in the bus and I feel Dennis was extremely lucky with this bear. I'll take the zoo.
Thank you for stopping in to review.
