Your poems words depict those who go to bed with problems that remain unsolved. We all do at one point or another in our lives.

You manifested this in a mere 10 words.

Expertly done,
John

Hi John-thanks so much for such sweet and kind words for this poem. I know it is a little eerie, but it rings true for so many. The artwork is my granddaughter's and thought it was perfect coming down the bedroom steps for this poem. Thanks again sweet friend. ,

This was a nice, succinct statement of why we often have trouble going to sleep. Our thoughts are occupied by past misdeeds that we haven't yet tried to make amends for, and they haunt us. What a beautiful, frightening picture you've also chosen to represent what we fear. Very well done. Jim

Hi,
This is a well written short poem which shows how strong guilt and regret is and how it affects your life. I like the colorful representation of the devil descending into your thoughts.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Good luck in the contest.
Joan

Good match between picture and poem. It evokes memories of nightmares connected with guilt or unconfessed sins. Dreams do often reflect anxieties which is only too true.

What an incredibly powerful statement you made in ten words. Your choice of graphic and what you did with the art work is excellent. Cleverly written.

The serpent's bite is keen when we have unwanted memories from the past and we cannot shake them off. If we learn to forgive ourselves for past indiscretions we are on the road to recovery, a poignant write, love Dolly x
