My daughter put it this way: it's like there's two you'd. There's (this she says with a Snow White voice) Shelley the Perky Piano Teacher and then there's (this she snarls) Ra-CHELLLLLLLLE." She adds, "And the only one who ever seems to come back to THIS house? Is Ra-CHELLLLLLLLE." So I TOTALLY hear what you're saying here!

Thanks, Rache for your ongoing support. I appreciate the extra star and you. We cannot please everyone and that for sure include our kids. Hope you are feeling better today.

I like your Monokus poem - excellent picture presentation - This must be your own picture? Cool. Poem and notes tell something that probably few people know about teaching. I was never a teacher so I had no idea how draining it must be interacting with kids in this case. Bless you...it is sad that it may have taken away from your time with your child. Probably the case with many parents - I know I work 12 hours a day six days a week and 8 on Sunday for over 12 years trying to put food on the table. As I think about it now...I wish I could have spent more time with my little people. You did Good Job Sandra. AP

Thank you, AP, for your comments and review. There are probably unknown sacrifices in every profession. A common one is time away from loved ones. This is especially the case starting or building a new career.

I can remember my mother saying that I spent more on my girlfriend than on her at the time. The truth was long after that girlfriend disappeared from life, my mother was still there, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

yes, you are so correct. Having two sisters who each taught for over 35 years, I can relate to your words. although the line pf poetry uses one line as I view it on my computer, a larger font in your chalkboard green might work as well. Nice entry. Good luck

Thanks for your review. I tried a larger size, and it kept making it two lines.

You need to forgive yourself as there is only so much one person can offer and your children have you for life and the students only had you for a short time, a poignant write, love Dolly x

Would be easier to forgive myself, if my child had not died by 22. Thanks for the review.

Sandra,
This is a great poem that gives the reader something to think about.
When I was in the workforce, including the Army I watched many young mothers torn between work and staying at home with their children. You express that here very clearly.
Good luck in the contest, Sandra,
Blessings, Cindy

What a thought-provoking Monoku. As a teacher, I understand perfectly. One doesn't realise until much later - and then it is sometimes too late. Hope your relationship with your child has een restored, or will be.

Now that is saying something great job totally understand we coming from! This is very well done and packs a statement. Very clever words you've chosen definitely create a statement which is the intent. Great submission! I can find nothing wrong with it. No hours in spelling nothing like that and very well with the intended impact quite well delivered.
This is a great submission look forward to next one have a great night!

There was a lot of emotion packed into this little poem. It captured a mother's heart. It captured regret. It captured hard-earned wisdom. You followed the format perfectly, as far as I can tell. This was really well done.
