I like the "mental eye roll." It made realize I do that sometimes!
Excellent story. Flows perfectly.
If I could suggest an edit: delete the last two sentences. Will give the ending greater impact.

What a great entry for this contest. One never knows what secrets lurk in the shadows. This was a perfect story of a lesson learned, making a non-believer a believer. Great work! I loved it! Best, JohnC

Thank you. It would be kind of fun to have your own personel dragon. It was a fun story to write.

Nicely written. Good error-free work.
I'll bet your best friend (not named Sandy) let you have it (in a most endearing way) about the seven husbands remark. She prob'ly has never married at all!
Best wishes.

a rather humorous story. just a couple thoughts; both words are correct in their usage- dreamed and dreamt. Wondering if dreamt might be a word with better flow in your prose. didn`t get the line...wait for dame fortune. is it `works so well` or `worked so well` Good luck in the prompt.

Thank you. Sandy was telling me the bracelet worked for her, past tense as it had already worked. I will think about the dreamt or dreamed theory and see what sounds the best. The term dame fortune means waiting for good luck or wealth. Thank you for the input and tips. I appreciate reviewers who make suggestions.

very interesting and very well written.I am not sure I believe in these kinds of charms but the story was highly entertaining. The dream or reality of dragon sitting on the stomach was very engaging Thanks for sharing..

Well written, and a fine write. Of course one had to keep on rewading to see if she had good luck with it. She certainly learned not to mess with Feng Shui. Good that there remains a seed of doubt about whether it was a dream, the reality of the dragon coming to life - a nice bit of fantasy within. Well done. Best wishes for the contest.

Seven marriages? Wowsers!
Do not mess with the mystical, especially not Feng Shui.
There was a great flow to your writing, whether a dream or not, the story came full circle which made it complete.
A thoroughly enjoyable read. Jacqueline

Thank you. I can't imagine having seven husbands in one lifetime, either. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

I found this engaging and creative in content, and certainly all of your writing is technically flawless. I like the bit of dialogue thrown in also. But you left me with a huge question: instead of getting good luck from wearing the bracelet during the day, does she have to wear it forever in order to NOT have bad luck?
Interesting prose; good luck with the contest.

Thank you. Nope, only in the daytime. The bracelet must be removed at night, as Sandy explained. Hmm, I will have to find some way to clarify that. There is a word limit of 750, so I would have to omit some words elsewhere to add an explanation. Let me think about it.

Thank you. I have a Feng Shui bracelet and it gave me the idea for the story. It's just my imagination going rogue.

I enjoyed reading this story. I like how the dragon visited the main character at night and she took the bracelet out of the trash. I also like how her friend was married seven times. Your story is creative and unique and a good dragon tale. Excellent writing that holds the reader's interest.

Thank you. My Feng Shui bracelet inspired this story. Do you suppose it told me to write the story? Lol
