Good luck in the Faith Poetry Contest. God has allowed the evil one free rein and it is a lesson to us all, we are fallible and God is infallible. Eventually, he will shorten the reins of the evil one after we have eyes to see and ears to hear. Returning to God. K xx

Send it on, my friend. For all the smiles you give me, it will be well worth it. And you do send a lot my way and I hope we meet someday, because I bet you are a laugh a minute...Love ya Sweetie!

Your image plus words paired perfectly, Mystery Author.
I loved the monorhyme within each verse. You packed so
much information into your contest entry and created great
imagery. Faith means many things to many different peoples.
However, there are some things all can, or should agree, on.
First, it's personal, then it's meant to be shared with others.
Also, believers know it's mostly unseen yet the results of it
are usually visible--think of the tiny flower seed that one plants.
faith in Him, it will become something beautiful.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

I thank you so very much for your kind comments for Mustard Seed Poem, and always being so thoughtful in your reviews. Your kind words are always so appreciated . Would you believe this is the third thank you that I have written for this poem for you and about twenty other people. I have had this happen before so today I watched really close so I would know if it happened again. Once was bad enough, but then it happened again. I finally wrote to Tom, but that was a long time ago and maybe he is checking on how to tell. So lol, I thank you again for such a lovely review

Nicely penned. It does seem that showing reverence or proclaiming faith has become a "cancel culture" issue. I well remember beginning each school day with a prayer (In Catholic school)--and a moment of silence (in public school)--

I am befuddled why proclaiming Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior is deemed as "microaggression" by anyone.

Alas.

This is the world we live in, but such nonsense will not follow us into eternity!

I liked reading this. The stanza that made me stop and think was: There was a time when I was young, here in the USA
The people felt the privilege, to speak of God and pray
In school we bowed our heads before we ate most everyday
But now even our government, has surely gone astray

I always thought prayer in school was a first-thing-in-the-morning event, not having seen it anywhere other than a Seminary class. So I learned something new, that it was before eating. I really think you did a good job pointing out that people need to listen again to Jesus' words. Nice entry.

This is a great message. The four lines of rhyme in each stanza is effective. The meter is just a bit off - here and there. My question is, how many syllables do you use in the word "extraordinaire"?

Paul l am so happy that you asked me about extraordinaire, which is 5 syllables. Because I looked at my poem then and realized that a line that I had meant to change in edits, that I didn't. So that is maybe the off meter one, but now it says: Jesus loves me and I always want him by my side.. Before it said, Jesus loves me so, and he wants me by his side.
So thank you so much for your kind comments. I appreciate you asking me about the syllables.

Your rhyme and meter are steady. The faith theme is clearly communicated. I like that you encourage others to focus on Jesus to avoid despair. Overall, it's a good poem.

Not only do I love that this poem professes the author's faith, but its writer has also chosen some lesser-used words for the monorhyme, like "astray", "confide", and "extraordinaire". Good luck, poet -- well done!
