Speaking of food, and weight... I went shopping last night and eggs were just over $2.50! Needless to say I got a carton. I think I'll go see if they're still on sale today. I'm having an omelet today! Haven't had one of those for a long time, a total extravagance these days! LOL

No Folly Being in Love

If love is blind, and at times I wish it was,
how does my love find my flaws?
Evidently, I don't hide them very well
leaving her the challenge to reform me.

When asked, "Why she can't leave me as I am,"
she says, "God wants you to be a better man,
and I've been assigned as your guardian angel
keeping you from Dante's inferno."

In response, I rejoin,
"Open your eyes, my dear.
I could be appreciative if
the results were a nag-free environment."

"What's more, I'm unconvinced
you are heaven-sent,
because if you were
would you be needing
additional on-the-job training?"

That was when
a frying pan took flight
smacking me betwixt mine eyes,
restoring sense for my repartee,
while relearning why love is blind.
