Top story. A rollicking read about a job you clearly enjoyed and did well. You also managed to teach the school children some manners. Not an easy task.
Thankyou for sharing your story. I truly enjoyed reading it.

It sounds like you had a fantastic time as a school bus driver. I can't imagine driving seventy-two students at one time. Heck, I can't imagine driving a school bus. This story is exciting because you don't know what would happen next. You did a great job describing your experiences.

I really enjoyed reading your story! I loved the line "he'd better give his heart to God because his butt was mine." It sounds like my mother - she's a retired teacher. I can't wait to read more about your jobs. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Hello Yvonne,
I'm so pleased that you've shared this delightful story of some of your experiences on the bus. I do hope that this won't be the last of the "bus' stories. I was laughing as I read. I could just envision you changing gears and taking control of the unruly students. It's hard to imagine you with long hair. It was such a riot to read that your baby was strapped onto the back of your seat. I know you have many more tales to tell, and l'm looking forward to many more. Well done my friend. Have a blessed day.

It was anything but boring gal. I think you've lived a rather interesting life, and I'm glad you're finally sharing it with us.

I enjoyed reading your story. It seems you had that combination and love and discipline that works with children. We do not have enough of that now. I do not seem any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

I was fascinated by your stories Yvonne, and I am glad that you were strong enough to insist on having your way regarding safety issues and respect. (Last week here, a lady bus driver lost control of her school bus and a student was killed. She has been charged with negligent driving, and I can't help feeling that her life has been ruined. She's the wife of a pastor.)
I am looking forward to more of your stories. Interesting and varied expreriences, all recounted very well.

Hi Yvonne, Great story. I love that you could parallel park the school bus. That means that you get that One and only remaining parking space.
I enjoyed your school bus adventures. You were very lucky when your breaks did not work. The was a situation here in NJ where a school bus was coming down the hill, and the bus could not stop. It ran the stop sign where only a left or right hand turn could be made. However, the bus went straight down the side of a road embankment. It was tragic.
I agree Parents are the biggest problem. You did a good job handling that 6'2" senior. Sadly, when dealing with bullies, you cannot show fear.
Y, this is a story that most readers/reviewers will be able to relate to. Thank you for sharing. Well done. Xo. M

I would love to read more stories. I used to tell my first graders, while riding a bus for fieldtrips, they had to sit back-to-back and bottom-to-bottom. They thought that was funny, but soon learned I meant it. Thank you for sharing.
The students were surprised they had to sit down and not hang out the windows. (you can omit 'down'(

I can see we think alike when it comes to behavior. I never had much problem with discipline once they got to know me.

Once the rules are clear and fair, there normally isn't a problem.
