Hello, John!
Ah! Saturday morning mayhem!
How I miss those days!
Sometimes I felt like I spent more time looking for our son's athletic uniforms and SOCKS than I did watching his games!
Humorous and relatable!

Thank you for sharing!

Diane, we all lived it to some degree.
This is a super, super, really shortened version of chapter 1 of a baseball book I?m trying to write.
Thank you for your great reviews.

A significant amount of our time as parents of children involve in sports or the arts, such as drama, dancing or band, is spent trying to help them find their equipment. You hope when they grow up and pursue any of these interests, they will do a better job of keeping up with their stuff.

Either that or their children provide the payback!

Sometimes this is repeated when the parents grow old and they start to acting like their children once did.

Yes, as the mother of all athletes, I had the stuff to wash. All our boys were extreme skaters if you can imagine that. It hard to get that stuff clean. Most the time we just declared it lost and had to buy new stuff. I'm glad you had something simpler. ;))

Sending you my very best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest.

This is a super, super condensed version of the first chapter of a baseball book I?m trying to write. I want to get more chapters written before I start posting it.

    Thanks for sharing.

Extreme skaters? Is that like Skateboarding?

That`s a house like many I knew growing up and trying to find the `seat of your pants` Short story that provided a lot of information. Nice work and don`t forget to brush your teeth.

I'm sure there are many of us who can hear every word of this story replaying in our heads. We not only had to buy the darn stuff, but keep it clean, and be about to find it within a moments notice. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely. We did that with baseball, basketball and soccer.

It's hard to write a story in 50 words, but here you have a typical family interaction done well. The parents have clearly been through this exchange before. The child is constantly losing things. The parents are trying to keep the morning routine going as the child interrupts, needing help. You covered a fair amount in 50 words. Well done.

Hahaha! If you've had boys, you will understand this one! I smiled all the way through this, John! My boys both live on their own and still manage to confront me with (the last time you were here, Dad, did you happen to see my...) I love every minute of it, though! Great work here! I loved it! Best, JohnC

This is a great sports fiction story and I enjoyed reading it. I love the reaction from the brain fogged dad. Your writing prompt entry caused me to smile and took me back a few years. Your story was well written and you did a good job of telling your story in 50 words. That is not easy to do. Your story was a fun contest entry that I enjoyed very much. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. I enjoyed reading and it caused me to smile. I can't remember going through similar things with my boys, but unfortunately, I still do with my husband.

Rebecca looked at her husband, "You're next." (period needed after 'husband')
