Well, now this a lottery I would be very glad to lose! This goes to show that one should never enter a lottery (or contest) without first learning what the winners get. This reminds me a little of The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. If you haven't read it, I recommend it. Good luck in the contest.

I love it! It kept my attention the whole time, with empathy for your plight and your faith. Then the twist at the end hit me like bam! That's the good stuff! Love it!

Well, this one will require a certain amount of suspension of disbelief to make it work, and for the reader to not ask questions.
I think the premise is an interesting one, and you worked hard on the set-up. I would recommend trimming things down a bit, and adding a stronger, more engaging beginning.
