This is a very nice poem that has taken the writing prompt concerning "Jealousy" and taught us lessons. There are many facets concerning jealously that will creep up on us if we are not careful. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so very much Dr Nad. I appreciate all of your kind comments.
So many have been asking what happened regarding my story.
My friend Lee, quit her job and was not doing well with the rejection. I was worried about her and then one day, they called her and told her that somebody had reported knowing the truth, and they begged her to come back with a promotion. She also received lots of apologies from the people, and the woman who spread lies because of the jealousy was fired. You know what they say about Karma! Lol! Thanks again my dear friend.

Something that should give anyone feeling jealousy pause, If there is someone whom you envy, it reveals a singular lack in you. Why do I envy that person? Because he/she has or does something I cannot do or do not have. Is it something I need to possess or be able to perform? If it is just something I wish I had or wish that I could do. It may well be something I was never meant to do or possess. So maybe I should just grow up and concentrate on being the best person I can be.

Yep, you're absolutely correct. There's.more to jealousy than mere emotion, it's the final conclusion to minor resentment and can manifest into something much worse, just don't do that, and beyond, this is a timely post, and very important, well done, blessings Roy

The rhymes in this poem are excellent, each one fitting in its proper place without a struggle and carrying along the sense of the poem. The meter is mostly excellent as well, with the only exception being line eight. I hope you can work on that one a little to make it flow more smoothly. (the accent is on 'don't' and 'your' which is unnatural) However, you make a great case for avoiding jealousy and It think that is the point of this contest. I wish you much good luck in the voting. Your poem carries such a good message. MM

Hi Adonna, I so appreciate your feedback and was able to read your review without interruption, as lol, I had unannounced grandchildren today, that of course I could not turn away. However fixes didn't get done until now. Would you please read again and tell me if it doesn't look better now? I would be so grateful. Thank you for the lovely comments that you made as well as your very accurate feedback. That is priceless to me. Thanks again, my dear friend.

You contest entry spelled it out like it is with jealousy,
Mystery Author. Yes, it can and does show its evil face
in more ways than just one as you stated. The picture
paired perfectly with your well thought out words. Your
entry had smooth flow, great end rhymes, and a true message
many need to heed. Sadly, some would say--mot me. I liked
your example. Your conclusion was great, too. How much kinder
to share a part of yourself in a loving manner than spew hate-filled
words or the same with actions.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

I've always thought those who turned angry and bitter with jealousy say so much more about themselves than about anyone else. Rumors fester, people talk, craving what another has is a sure path to sadness ~ and we never truly know the cross they are bearing.

Nice job expressing this!

"It is never wise to seek or wish for another's misfortune. If malice or envy were tangible and had a shape, it would be the shape of a boomerang." - Charley Reese Read

"Jealousy is Many Words" is written in alternate in alternate rhyme lines, four to a stanza, with the lines also alternating between seven beats and four beats. The poem is well-done but it's limited by its didactic inclination to instruct and adjure. It's virtually always true that a poem can be improved. There are examples of anthologized, great poems that have been revised over and over during the poet's lifetime. See "Ars Poetica," by Archibald MacLeish.
Poetry is more about sharing the internal, essential status of individual consciousness with the world. Suggestions and admonitions have their place, but don't contribute to poetry's ability to connect. Tell me what and how it is, not what to do about it.

Very well written. Great poem, and it delivers a really good message about jealousy. Your words flowed well throughout the poem, and nicely done with your rhyming pattern. Your poem was easily read and I enjoyed it. Nicely done with your writing style and your message about jealousy. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice statement about the after-effects of jealousy and how destructive it can prove to be. Jealousy is a natural emotion that is valid to have. But just don't let it affect your behavior in a negative way. Keep it to yourself. Nice rhyming, but the meter could be a little more consistent.

A lot of it is trochaic like the first line of the poem and the first line of the third verse, but then you throw in some iambic lines like the 2nd and 4th lines of the last verse. It makes it difficult to read rhythmically that way. Try sticking to one meter throughout. That means choosing words and locating them in such a way that the accent of the word is on the correct beat of the meter. It makes it more difficult and takes longer to write, but if you get it right, poems read so much better.

Thank you so much Jim for the nice review and kind comments. Since you read this morning, I had made some changes to my poem. However, in my college classes, my professor taught about using the structure of a 13/10 poem. If you read it again, you may see that you like it better now that I had fixed some of the meter before I read your review. Is this one you had never used before? Regardless I always appreciate your kind feedback and very kind comments, my dear friend.
