Happy Birthday to your mom, Wendy! It's not easy to live so long as being in one's nineties also means dealing with the body unable to do many things. I hope she has a lovely celebration! Will you go visit her on her birthday?

Thank you Helen. No, can't visit her as she's more than 1000 km away, but we saw her in September. I'll phone her and I have sent her gift. Flowers will arrive too. Yes, physically she's winding down.

She has a lot of back pain now, and so doesn't get around much, despite having lived a very active life till fairly recently. She's also getting quite deaf. She's now moved in with my sister but has her own independent quarters.
