Cute object lesson. My favorite line is, "I think we do it different now, Dad"
Dumb kid, Did he think he might have been conceived in a frying pan. LOL He took from his Dad's lesson they were shrimp omelets for dinner.

Kids; right?
Comment from Pam Lonsdale
I guess this is one father's version of having that "birds and the bees" talk, except it's eggs and shrimp!
Pretty funny stuff here. I think Con is right when he says we do it differently now, and he probably knows way more than dad did at his age. Or now!
Good story - thanks for sharing.

What a great and creative way to teach a kid procreation. I I wonder why Conrad said that "I think we do it different now, Dad." What's different about? Your writing is more symbolic than some authors here at least so we can use out imagination.
Well done.

Conrad was a smartass who suggested that throwing shrimp in a frying pan isn't how babies are made.

Haha, He was right or he should use some imagination.

I really like the concept of this story.
It's engaging, builds nicely and has a where is this going vibe.
I enjoyed it up until the last line.
I suggest you mention the son's age...A reference to a son (only) is too ambiguous.
If he's young enough, the final line works.
If the son older or an adult, his closing comment should be a sharper retort.

I loved your photograph, although I on't know how you fashioned it (or maybe where you got it from). The unwillinglessness of youth to learn also never ceases to amaze me. kay

Lol. I think Dad needs to learn how to search YouTube and watch it with Connor. Of course, Connor already watched the videos so he probably could tell Dad a thing or two. But Connor, at least, learned what's for dinner.

Very funny. Great image. A lesson attempting to be taught in a humorous manner.
A witty, enjoyable light read. Best of luck with your book sales Bill.

Had me confused for a bit there. Then Conrad summed it all up for me -
Shrimp omelette for dinner.
I cracked up with your brain on drugs reference.
Comically done. Thanks for sharing.
