This was definitely tongue in cheek and I enjoyed reading this but I liked better what you said in your author's notes about how we don't accomplish anything anymore.
Thanks for addressing the issue of high tech and how it is ruining our lives by not letting us work it out for ourselves when things go wrong.

Thanks for the excellent review and your support of my premise in this little piece. Most people seem to want to place orders for them to do work around their house so I'm not sure I succeeded in my aim of getting people to consider doing without them. estory

It is hard to get people to want to work for themselves when there are so many devices that will do it for them.
    It is sad but true.
Keep writing your pitch maybe some of them will come around and learn what it feels like to work for themselves.

This was an interesting read, nicely formatted, and free from spelling errors. However, I do wish the font size were larger.
As I was reading it, I disagreed with parts of it- those I do on my own as a widow. But plenty was mentioned that I couldn't do.
I do understand the gist of your writing.
Thanks for the read.
Best wishes

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on my premise here. It would be great if we helped each other out more, then we wouldn't need the little mechanical men. When I was younger, people actually had relationships with their neighbors. Now everybody sits in their house and surfs the internet. I have spoken to only two people on the whole block in seven years. estory

    You're quite welcome.
I have a neighbor two doors down who last spoke to me six years ago when she brought over some flowers following my husband's death. We haven't talked since then. It seems like we are a rather self-isolated set of neighbors.

There is a lot that's mechanical and tech to keep running nowadays. This isn't a new situation, but it's ever more a complex undertaking for an individual to accept as his or her job. Technically and mechanically talented people can still outperform ordinary people, and people who grew up within the current era of tech and miniaturization generally fare better with machines, motors, and devices than those born back in the last millennium. The "Little mechanical men" of this poem's title and content are the hoard of specialists who now eventually get our stuff working or tell us to junk this or that. I do hope that humanity evolves to be more generally capable of out-psyching our devices and machines.

Thanks for your interesting perspective on my premise in this little piece. My experience with man made devices is that they break just about as much as they work. estory

And my son-in-law said oh, if this were so. He works around this house so hard and puts so many things back together that need to be fixed that he's just wearing himself completely out. I do have a little mechanical man in my life that turns off the lights at night for me and turns it back on in the morning. All I have to do is say hey Siri good night or in the morning I say hey Siri, good morning it all happens like magic good morning and then when I come home at night I do not even have to find a key. Had a little button and the doors unlocked for me. I agree that we are getting used to having so many things done for us that we have lost the satisfaction of doing things for ourselves.

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on my premise. I think I'm going to write a story about a home computer network that gets hacked or malfunctions and turns on its inhabitants. estory

Well done. It is true, our forefathers were very DIY. The poet's message was effectively conveyed. The choice of language and imagery of the little people was apt. I hope you keep on composing such verse.

Your poem is very well written, emphasizing how our lives have changed with technology. Reminded me of the fears some people had when the year 2000 arrived, fearing that everything was going to fall apart because of dates on our computers.

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on my little piece. I remember the turn of the millenium. They made the store manager and file clerk stay in the store all through New Year's to make sure the whole thing wouldn't stop dead at midnight. My experience with technology and man made things is that they break just about as much as they work. estory

I could use some of these litttle guys. Maybe I need to leave my computer on at night. Unfortunately, all these little things that go wrong don't always get fixed. What I'd really like to have is my big guy back that did so many things to keep things running smoothly. I get the point of your story. We're too dependant on technology.

Thanks for the excellent review and your words struck home for me. That's it in a nutshell; we need to going back to doing these things for each other instead of just pushing buttons and making phone calls. estory
