As I read this, all I could think of was that I want some of these little mechanical men to live at my house. I love how you describe them at work, but towards the end, I got the feeling that it was a way of expressing your appreciation for all your partner does to fix things. I wasn't making the technology connection (probably because I am a technology dinosaur.)

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on the piece. I wanted it to be humorous, light hearted, but I also wanted to get across the idea that it would be better if we did the work ourselves. It is in the end, a more satisfying way to live, I think. We were designed to work. estory

My brother recently shared an app that did all the intuitive writing required for anything like a Haiku to a short story. You just provided a few key words or topic and BANG, the finished product was there to read. He gave a few examples and they were pretty good, but I had to cut him to the quick and express that I would never resort to such ease. Where`s the pleasure in creating something, the challenge etc. AI, artificial intelligence, will make us dumb and dumber.

Exactly. This ChatGPT stuff is another step towards the hollowing out of experience, the soulessness of creating things like this. People are using this to get through college, to write Valentine's love letters. How empty can you get? It's becoming a soulless world. estory

Brillant, you captured the mood perfectly. I would have taken a different approach - I have written a lot about my love-hate relationship with my computer and my conviction that it is actively plotting against me. you can read it here

Dear Estory, I know what you mean because you and I come from a generation that fixes everything from the drain to changing our own oil and mending the fence. Thank you for sharing and I can appreciate the humor in your post. Sending along my very best to you as always and blessings for your writing endeavors, Sally :)) XOs

Thanks for the excellent review and the support from you, my kindred spirit. But I fear we are becoming an endangered species. Wonder if Biden uses Chatgpt to write his speeches. LOLestory

This work has reached the exceptional level

If most people had them in their houses, they would never go out the door. I need to send for some of those men from my computer. What a wonderfully written and imaginative poem. Best of luck with your writing!

Have a great day, and God bless.

My daughter's entire house is controlled by technology, the locks on the doors, the lights, the TV, the cooking! I am frightened to speak as Alexa thinks I am an intruder and must be exterminated! Joking aside, this is a fun write, I loved to humour within, technology has taken over the world and our every move is monitored, love Dolly x

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on my premise here. I wouldn't want a computer controlled house. There are stories of people hacking the systems and breaking in, stealing cars by cellphone. I don't need a machine to turn on the lights and set the stove or open the door. estory

You are right. Recently I sewed a zipper on my night gown. I went to the tailor but she was too busy so I decided to do myself. It's amazing how satisfy it was.

I enjoy these poems about the technology's impact on our lives.

Well done.

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on my piece. We have lost the satisfaction of living, the soul within us. People are using chatgpt to write valentine love letters. How lame and soulless is that? estory

I love the very notion of this funny poem. My husband and I call them fairies in our house. If something is broken or the pantry needs restocking or something needs to be cleaned one of us just does it, even in the other's absence. We are always so happy to our delight to come home to a nice dinner or to find that something broken has been fixed. Instead of taking credit we both look at each other with a smirk and say, "The fairies must have done it."

Thanks for the humurous reminder.

Hi estory, and you succeeded just like that. It's amazing how we survived just a few years ago. But we did, didn't we? Maybe a bit better than we do now. Ulla:)))

Thanks for the excellent review and your comments. It seems like a more satisfying time to me in retrospect. My dad did everything himself. Painting the porch, jacking up the house, redoing all the wallpaper. Even taking out the fireplace when my mother wanted it out. I'll tell you one thing. It saved him a ton of money. estory

Would you send me an order of little mechanical maids please? I have things that need cleaning. I don't care if they want to work overnight or during the day as long as the dishes get done and the baseboards are clean. The kitchen cabinets need doing as they're starting to look grimy too.
The whole place could use a touch up paint job, so would you send me some little mechanical painters too? Do make sure they aren't sloppy. I can't abide a sloppy paint job! Drives me nuts!
Thanks for all your help!
Susan :)

Thanks for the excellent review and I am glad my little story of the mechanical wonder workers struck a humorous tone in you. But I would be afraid they would malfunction or get hacked and kill me in my sleep. estory
