Aw, this is so encouraging to me! You're the bravest person I know. I don't know why you're back to needing surgery. I wish I had the answers. I know the Lord has you though or I wouldn't be able to type this. I'm pleading in prayer now that things improve for you this day, this month, this year.

Your sense of humor is still in tact, I see, and the song by Herman Munster is a hoot! Thank you, I needed that!!

Love the Kenzie art and poem. Love you, too! ;))

Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest.

Hi Debi! Well, you've once again taken a serious subject and written a poem about it - I admire your ability to do that. I write non-fiction stories, so why am I so impressed with your true-story poems? Because they're rhymed and rhyming is hard, lol!

Hope all is going well with your recovery and that you're still on-track for our Autumn 2023 5K walk:-)

Good luck in the contest.

xxoo

Oh Pam, I am so sorry that this is so late , but I do appreciate your kind words ands lovely review my very sweet friend. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. And we will have to see about that walk. I was actually doing better around Christmas then I am now. There is a possibility that my body (or the lupus) is rejecting the hardware in my leg that was used to help the bones. At this time I am only able to take a few steps at a time without horrible pain. It is always on my mind and my bucket list. Don't give up on me sis! Lol

Sorry it's taken me a couple days to answer this - got sidetracked. I'm sorry to hear about this latest snafu in your recovery, Debi. It's like you can't catch a break. I'm not going to give up on you - we may have to wait another year, but as long as we both can walk we'll get from start to finish.

Take care of yourself and all my best for your continued recovery.

    xx

Thank you. The last thing I need is for you to give up on me and don't let me give up either, because my bucket list needs fulfilling .

Oh, Debi, that was a true living nightmare!! I can understand your reluctance and fear of having the next one done, but I'm sure, now that they know what happened with the other knee, they will take extra precautions. Have you managed to walk on the new one yet?
When I had my first knee-replacement, they cut out my bad knee and then discovered they didn't have a new one to replace it with. They had to knock my out for over 5 hours while they rang around other hospitals to find one. My other knee needs replacing now, but I'm not in a hurry to have it done. I know they will make sure there is one ready for me, but I'm still wary.
You have been through such a lot, and in that time you have been thinking of others. You are an incredible, caring, brave lady, and so well loved. Prayers do help and I know God will be inundated with them. Good luck in the contest! Love you lots, my friend. Sandra xxxx

I am sorry Sandra for laughing, because your story is not funny.however I cannot believe the ignorance of doctors. But it is horrible that they did that to you, and as stupid as the idiots who did mine. The most serious and main surgery for me was not my knee, but the leg. They were supposed to also be watching for extra blood loss in me because of the lupus and the chronic anemia. They must have failed to read my doctors orders because they figured that I was like anyone else that could restore their blood loss fast.
My hemoglobin dropped from 12-4 in the ten hours that they did the surgery and then everything else crashed with it. Blood pressure 56/22 and heart at 24. I just got my heart monitor off less than a month ago. If I had any extra energy I would have caused more of a fuss over it, but I guess I should just be thankful to be alive. So how are you feeling now and are the infections cleared up? And just so you know, that once you are on my prayer list, you are on there forever. Love you my first real friend here. I will never forget how much you mean to me. Thanks for the awesome sweet words and review.

That was really incompetence on the part of your surgeon. That they hadn't read, or had ignored your own doctor's notes, is really out of order, and you really should sue them. It would teach them never to do it again! They were very lucky in your case, you survived. It could have gone the other way. I'm so glad you are still with us, the world would have lost a lovely lady, and that would never do!! Love you, too. my dear friend. xxx

Sympathies, I have had the same surgery! The poem conveys very well the pain and anxiety associated with operations and hospitals. It is the psychological effect more than anything!

This is an unusual topic for a contest. Your trepidation is quite understandable given your last visit which is well described in this poem. Love your grandgirl's artwork. Cheers

Yes LOL Valda, this was very strange contests. I have had so many people ask about that first surgery when it first happened and still some will. So I decided to take this opportunity to write about it. Thanks for kind comments forKenzie's artwork too. . So good to see you again.

Wish I had a six to reward you for your absolute stamina and ability to defy all odds, as well as write this well rhymed and TRUE poem, Debi! I can only just imagine how these thoughts before the second surgery were like a tsunami of stress! Whew! You made it my friend!

I'm so glad that you are doing fine now. It's February of 2023. So you must have had two surgeries already in last July and September. I know knee surgeries need a lot of physical therapies I hear. It sounds like a vert scary experience.

Take care.

'Thanks so much Hon! Year, I did have the surgeries, but there's a possibility that my lupus is causing my body to reject the hardware that they put in my legs to strengthen them so I could walk again. I am taking a few steps now - but only a few because it is so painful, however l have so much to be thankful for and I never forget that. Thanks my very sweet friend for your kind words,

Thank you Mark, I knew of one that was off and I fixed it by just taking a word out. I usually do fine on my own, but I had well meaning friends giving me some advice and now I get a couple less than normal ratings. Is there any way you could please point out a couple of those lines for me so that I can fix them right away. I certainly do appreciate your feedback and if they need fixing I would like to do it yet tonight. I appreciate your kind words too, my friend.

I owe you an apology for my earlier (now edited) review.

I've re-read your poem with fresh eyes and discovered I was off base.

I was tired when I read it the first time and what I mistook for tense hopping was me not tracking well.

Dear Heavenly Father we thank You for this day and for my friend, Debi. Dear Lord you see what she is going through. We know that you can help her to be able to walk again, because You are the great physician. Please let Your Holy Spirit help her as she takes each step and let the pain become less and less. Let her legs become stronger and stronger in You dear Lord. We can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us. Thank you Lord for my friend, Debi. I ask these things in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ. amen

Oh Teri, how can I lose? I have at least four of the loveliest Christian ladies praying for me. Between you, Helen, Karenina, and Sally,
I am so blessed. Thank you for your lovely prayers. I am so thankful for your friendship and sisterhood, in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
