Oh, my goodness, Debi! I'm not sure if you're through the other surgeries, but I wish you well, my friend. What a great entry for the contest! I would have to guess you are in professional hands. I won't tell you not to worry because that's a natural thing to go through as you already know. Best, JohnC

You are a brave lady indeed, Debi, so you are. I'm so sorry it all went so terribly wrong. You've gone through some very difficult time. I hope it will be better this time round.
I loved your poem. Ulla:)))

Eliz, I thank you for your very kind review and comments for my poem, and your thoughtful words for me. It did go better, as I had it in 'September and I think my children stood outside the OR with clubs so this time, they did not let me lose so much blood with out putting some back in right away. I am a chronic anemic and had they read that the first time what my dr wrote, they may have saved hemoglobin going from 12-4 in 10 hrs that it took to do the surgery.
I don't know if that was too much on my heart or what but then blood pressure and heart rate number in the twenties.
I sure appreciate it my friend. I am blessed to be back with my other family here. Thanks sweetie and Ulla I know you had a rough year to so let's toast to a better year!!!!

Ulla, I have no idea why your name says Eliz, but I wrote this one just for you. My auto correct has been really weird since I upgraded my devices. Anyway if I hit the wrong letter, that might have done it. Anyway I just wanted you to know that I didn't think I was writing to anyone else.

Wow! Debi, I had no idea you your surgery turned out the way it did. I can't imagine going intio surgery with no fear but maybe being a bit nervous this time will product better results. I love the way you've told you story in poetry form. I also love you sense of humor with the funny video you shared. Good luck in the contest. I'll pray the next surgery goes well. I need that knee surgery too.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Your poem detailed the many up and down feelings you
experienced before and after your surgeries, Debi. Now,
there are possibly more ahead of you. The color scheme
and art were appropriate as was the font. I liked the rhyming
and smooth flow. You gave readers many details about you
and what was happening because of the need for multiple
surgeries. Yes, I'm thrilled you didn't wake up dead. What a
fun comment amidst the seriousness of this poem. Your last
verse was telling of the toll all of this has taken on you. However,
I know you have strong faith and will rely on that to continue.
The video was hilarious.
Thanks for sharing and nest wishes in the contest, Jan

Oh my! What horrors you must have expected. You take your readers right into the hospital with you, suffering alongside you. I hope the second one was a better experience. Good luck in the contest.

Three part review here:
1. The artwork your granddaughter provided is fantastic. How old is she?
2. Your poem to me on a 3 month roller coaster journey from strength to nervousness.
3. Who doesn't like Herman Munster? One of my favorite shows growing up. Note that I still haven't grown up. Love the old time shows.

Have a great day, Debi.
John

    John,
    1. You have great taste in art.
    2. I hope you liked the ride. I paid dearly for you to go on for that long.
    3. I think I liked Hermy Baby even better than the Adams Family. Even tho my daughter is part of the Adams family, as I am sure you saw Kenzies last name.
And if I had grown up, I wouldn't be having so much fun replying to you childishly in three steps. Hahahahahahaha!!!
I always tell my grandkids, when I grow up I want to be just like you someday. They get the biggest kick out of that. My mom never did grow up and she was the one who taught me how to be the best grandma ever.
Seriously tho John, thanks for your kind words and thoughts.

Really good entry for the thoughts before surgery contest. The rhyme and meter are consistent. The story is compelling and heartfelt. This is detailed enough for the reader to understand your fears of going back into surgery. I wish you the best with the contest, and with whatever health issues remain unresolved for you! It was very brave to share this!

So sorry for all those surgeries and all you have had to endure but your humor and zest for life come shining through even those dark times.

My husband just had a heart catheterization yesterday and will have a valve replaced next month. It is scary but like you our faith in God gets us through.

Well done Debi
Blessings
Janet

Great rhyming and a very vivid description of what you have gone through with these surgeries. Any surgery is scary, but you have certainly had your share. I pray that the Lord will be with you, and give you the strength that you need. He cares for you.

Oh Debi, what a horrific tale you have shared in your poem. I am hoping some of it is fiction. The fact that you have a comical video attached attest to your strength. Your text is a great size. Your message if true is a tale of survival, tenacity and courage. I hope this is your last time needing any major medical care. You are one heck of a woman.
Your visual fits well. Good luck in the contest, but more importantly good luck with your health.

Sandra, no all true, it was very scary, but I am thankful that God brought me back for another more adventure. We will see what that will be as I have no clue I just know there is something.
