Wow, mystery poet, you caught him red-handed! I had a friend once that new her husband was cheating but could never actually catch him. One night, she woke him up from a dead sleep and asked, "Who is she?" His defenses were down and he spilled. It was the next-door neighbor. I think the babysitter is worse though.
Your ending was hilarious and had a bit of smoking poke. Forgiveness is powerful and in the marriage it is given frequently. In Fidelity, a one time pass, I think.
I'm glad to know this fiction. Whew!

Sally, you are so right about how bad cheating is for the innocent spouse and also the children. That is why I chose this subject, as I have a friend who committed suicide after she found out that her 40 yr marriage was a lie.

Whoa, let's be careful with that blade now, Lorena. I wasn't completely certain if the writer was female or not. I had suspicions. But the Lorena Bobbit sealed the deal.
You did a nice job of putting a little humor with a bad situation. I also particularly liked the "Technically you weren't in the bed, but you were only on it? You have to be kidding me, I'll soon write you a sonnet." Not as much as the Lorena Bobbit though.

TDL, I wrote this to show how bad cheating is for the innocent spouse and also the children. But even the most serious subjects are easier to take with a little humor. That is why I chose this subject, as I have a friend who committed suicide after she found out that her 40 yr marriage was a lie.

Well yes, a situation such as this would require a great deal of forgiveness!! A good entry for the contest with loads of rhyme, rhythm, wit and clever wording. I'm concerned about the "I'll forgive you one more time" which implies it has happened before! A fun fictitious write!
