I love that Spock could stay, but you had to look for other accommodation.
I wouldn't stop at Papua N.G. either. Good decision. Loved this trip. Great story telling Yvonne and congratulations on the contest win. Loved it, cheers

Ah, that's the best explanation - it's true but there's no proof! I liked how you used the map to show us the journey and how you traveled land and seas with a Great Dane! Congratulations on the win!!

What a wonderful journey. Thank you for taking me along. I enjoyed everything. I'm glad you did not fall off the edge of the earth as you would have been lost and not able to testify to all that you had seen. Good thing, too, that motors have a reverse drive, I don't blame you for heading west and not north either. Take care and keep journaling. Loren

Congratulations on Milestone Post #1000! This is a good entry to the contest Flat. The text is a great size. That is important for long entries. It makes the reading easier. The plot is well conceived and developed. It is also not rushed. The speaker and his Great Dane are believable characters. You sprinkled great detail and adventures throughout your story. This would be a great story in an upper elementary school storybook. The visual fits well. Good luck in the contest. It was a good read. You have my vote.

You had an interesting take on the story, which I thought was a difficult one to write. Loved that you used Spock to "humanize" it. I wish you best of luck in the contest.

Hi there,

Many thanks for entering the competition and I think you did a good job with this. It comes across very conversational-like which makes for easy reading.

I'd have liked a bit more at the end about what was seen but that's writer's choice. Meets the criteria.

We stopped in small town somewhere in the Smokey Mountains- in a small town.

They meant that. When I went to register, the night clerk said Spock could stay, but humans were the most destructive, and I would have to find other accommodations.- lol

We sailed close to Pitcairn Island, a was a place I had always been interested in, - I would delete a was here.

I don't think even 180 lbs. Spock could take one on.- maybe change this to I don't think even at 180lbs, Spock could take one on.

All the best
GMG

I hope the main character collected his $$$$$$
before too much celebration. You did an awesome
job, Mystery Author, with your contest entry. I enjoyed
reading it. Your details put readers right there with the
man and his dog. I'm thrilled he stuck to his guns when
the naysayers came out. Your words flowed smoothly with
pertinent details. The man did a great job recording his
thoughts and the facts in his journal and taking pictures.
That ought to make others sit up and take notice. He set
out to find proof of his beliefs and succeeded much more
than he or anyone thought possible. The inclusion of specific
points and places lets readers follow along til he reaches
the end. Great intuition on his part to know to stop before
he fell off the edge. The image was perfect--flat just like the
Earth he proved with his journey. Congratulations on your
milestone post!
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan
