Hi Debora,
I like this poem with the twist at the end. It is good personification of chocolate. I have this problem too. As many other's do.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Congrats on placing third in the contest.

Thank you, DP. I have issues with my well-balanced diet, also. Unfortunately, mine 'balances' toward the big numbers now! lol
Blessings and thank you again,
Deb

No problem, Debora. I am trying to lose weight so I might be able to fit into my wedding dress at a church sponsored fashion show. By the way that wedding was in 1986.
Have a great week.

I beat you by a year on the wedding, Joan! lol. How could it possibly have been that long ago... No way I'll get back into mine. I was a size 0 back then. Yup. A zero. Now there are is a number in front of that one! lol

This is a cute poem, and the picture is great with it. I really like the twist at the end. Yes, I enjoyed your 'moment of silliness.' Best wishes in the temptation contest. Blessings.

The joy of chocolate....Lovely passion of chocolate poem. It seems to beckon and entice, chocolate for chocolate lovers.
-Not sure -hard- is necessary in iron-hard. Your word, iron is well selected, giving image of strong, steely determination.
Agreed, much easier to rhyme on chocolate than moussaka....Unless you like baclava!
A lovely poem. Very enjoyable.

I actually like that! lol. (Both to eat and to rhyme with my favorite food!)
Thank you!

I've heard of moussaka but have never eaten it. I enjoyed
your fun contest entry, Deb. Your words were descriptive
and had a smooth flow. I imagine most thought this was
about a man and not chocolate.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Oh, Jan, you ought to try it. But not the soupy, mishmash kind. There's one with the casserole part beneath an inch or two of cheese souffle... YUM! :)
Did you have surgery this week?
Thank you again, blessings.

No surgery for me was ever in the picture. 😊🐈⬛❤️

Hmm... lol. I've been praying for the wrong person! HA! I'm going to assume God knew and blessed you both... Whoever that other person was. lol

lol. I bet you could best me in a poem about the same subject. And you're right. Chocolate is the best temptation there is for most of us. :)
Blessings!

I like how the temptation at the end is chocolate, you surprised me. I am a fan of chocolate and am tempted when it is in front of me. You have a smooth poetic form and flow of words and this is a fun poem to read.

I love how you built up to the end. You think she is talking about a man that she wants to get to know a little better, and then the kicker comes. I, too, have trouble refusing chocolate. What a great piece.

What IS the bigger of the two temptations? A man or a piece of good chocolate? You have written well of temptation. A fun read. Good luck in the contest.

It sounded pretty serious at first, and as I followed I realised one wasn't quite marching to the beat of one's own beating drum, but resisting something the draws one on. But the devil doesn't need to tempt to, devils can take another form, beautifully written friend Deb, Hilarious. blessings Roy
Suggestion : I've always had an iron will.

No hypens? Okay... Thank you. :)
Temptation and the devil can indeed take many forms.! He's much more skilled than we give him credit for. Fortunately for me, chocolate isn't one of the ones that works on me. But pie? Yep, pie. lol
Blessings, dear friend,
Deb

Honey, you'd lose big time in my house!
I just finished a box of Christmas fudge last night at about 3am. lol Middle of the night is candy time here. That's all there is to it. I've tried, and tried. I fail at the store, every time!
Loved this!
Susan :)

HA!
Don't misunderstand, Susan... Just because chocolate doesn't call my name doesnt' mean that pie doesn't have me on speed dial! :) And OF COURSE the middle of the night. When else? :)
Blessings,
Deb
