-Good artwork and nice presentation, Sandra.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-You wrote a good poem with vivid images
with the different senses and impact as the theme.
-The one that stands out for me is about
the homemade yeast rolls and
"homegrown peaches layered beneath a golden crusted cobbler."
-You do a good job of capturing the bittersweet memories.

Hi Sandra,
This poem gives a feeling of a life long love being remembered in little memories. It seems these bring tears of love.
I also use that brand of lip balm.
Keep writing and stay healthy

We remember and miss those little things that someone did, their presence and their tender words, I know grief very well and you never quite get over it. All your senses are affected by grief and you managed to evoke such emotion with our words here Sandra, love Dolly x

This is a perfect example of what grief can do to once-beautiful, fond memories. The ones we once loved, now embedded in tragedy, can ambush and wound...again and again and again. This was palpable.

Engaging the five senses is a must when writing a short story, but this is the first time I've seen it done - and intentionally! - within a poem.
Although the beginning tells of the sadness to come, and the ending confirms it, it is a beautiful ode to our memories through sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.
What a treat to read your poetry:-)

I hear the sorrow of heart heart. Gorgeous descriptions of shared moments to the smallest detail. Memories that wake up each sense and then linger. This poem is tender and honest and carries a vulnerability. Beautifully worded and presented. Love to you Sandra and peace to your precious heart.

Oh thanks so much Sandra for your kind words! You were always one of my first believers! I just received an email today from a magazine hoping to publish one of my poems. I?m so chuffed as it is my first little step. Hopefully if it comes to pass officially it will be in a nation wide school magazine. I will be forever thankful for those who encouraged me first and you are well and truly amongst that crew. Blessings to you!!

You are talented. It's my pleasure to support you.

Thank you Sandra that means so much coming from you!

Oh, Sandra! This burning candle drips with sadness and melts behind beautiful memories. Memories are always more tangible than the actual experience, and that moment can repeatedly happen if you allow it to. I will continue to wish you the best. You are a powerhouse of a writer. Best, JohnC

Very sad. Very poignant. I like the mixed salty tears with lip balm. Ick. warmth of encircling arms and feathery like kisses very effective. I can feel it's a child.
Note: typo It's Burt's Bees.

Those memories are precious. I like the specific references to various things that were shared, such as the music and the album pictures. Reference to Burt Bee Wax lip balm was great. The feeling really comes across in this. Although the loved one is gone, the memories are still there. That reminds us to enjoy the moments. Lovely presentation. You might consider leaving out "most" before "daily departures."

Thank you for the exceptional rating and your comments. I put "most" because sometimes we all run out for errands and forget to say I love you or kiss good-bye. It can happen, and we pray everyone makes it back home.

I know just how that feels. At least, with time, it gets a little easier... memories begin to make you smile again instead of tear-up, and walking into the kitchen won't be so hard.
I found a new look to be very helpful. Freshening things up when there's nobody to argue with about what color something should be... not to mention it's something new to do.
Susan :)

Thank you for your review and comments. I have changed my daughter's room twice since her death, so I know what you mean.
