Thank you for a wonderful poem and tribute to all members of the military. Thank you for your service, too. Good luck in the contest. I enjoyed your poem.

Heart warming review, my friend. Thanks. It's rare that I write religious things, but this prompt inspired me. That you enjoyed it is the prize.

You are 110% correct sir. I never had the opportunity to serve, but I am grateful to you and each of those who have. Because without you, we would not have the life and liberty we currently do.

Thank you.... John

A very sincere and moving tribute to the American armed forces! Perhaps remembering past sacrifices is out of fashion but this poem, proves the importance of past sacrifice. The alternate rhyme in each verse helps to emphasise the need for remembrance.

Thank you for your nice review. It's an honor to have a nice English teacher from UK read my writings. Enjoy your writing and I am sure you have so many great stories to tell from having lived in so many interesting places. Between my Navy service and my career in sales, life took me to 25 different countries. I have experiences from all which I've yet to cover. I am sure you will find the same inventory in your memories. Good luck and Happy New Year. (BTW, so many memories of playing golf at St Andrews, Ireland, Oz, New Zealand and the times I lived in the Philippines and Hong Kong. My wife is tired of hearing my stories, therefore, I must write!)

For perspective: In most cases, I flew in, went to hotels alone, ate alone, worked with business contacts, and spent another evening alone. I count myself very lucky, but there were some very lonely days and nights, as well as, very long flights. I did develop a sincere appreciation for Indian curry. Loved it hotter when I was younger, but prefer the milder now. In what general part of England are you?
