Either she thought there would not be enough left to give her what she wanted or maybe, surprise, surprise, your trusting her enough to do what you obviously could not to do very well was gift enough .

Hello Bill, I'm thinking your
beloved daughter is selfless
and altruistic, putting off her
own needs til others are
served. Beauteous Christmas
spirit. Have a creative
Yuletide Sunday. Blessings
to you & your family.

LOL Why should your daughter want anything. She had everything she needed in that little bit of plastic you handed over so willing. Guys will to anything to keep from having to shop.

It is true, and she knows that so well.

A short listing of Christmas shopping. The flow is good. The images are clear. The narrative stays on point. The end is a mild surprise for the reader as it probably was for the author.

Noted no grammar errors.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Bill, your daughter has me puzzled. Perhaps, she helped herself to dad's credit card while shopping for mom. Hopefully, she did remember to come home with gifts for mom.
It sounds like you have this Christmas shopping thing under control. I'll try to take a lesson from your book. Thanks for sharing. LateBloomer

My daughter buys a lot of things for me so she actually has my card info available to use at her leisure. So far she has exercised restraint.

But she got your credit card so I'm sure she can get what she wants with it as well as choosing the right clothes for your wife. Thanks for showing us how men can shop expertly!

This would be a great flash fiction entry. I wonder why your daughter didn't want anything. Was that while she still had your credit card? This sounds so realistic. The wishes of the sons sound believable, too. They were looking at real-life needs. Those credit cards are irresistible. I limit myself to just two, and one is a debit card that I use mostly for grocery shopping. judi
