Hi Jesse,
I was looking through your portfolio and this is one I found I had somehow missed. I know you are past this now. I hope you are freely walking to your car now and doing some walking without supervision.
Keep writing and getting more mobile.
Have a good rest of the weekend.

Hello Joan.
Sadly, I am still using a wheelchair to get around but am working steadily on walking with the aid of a walker every day.
Soon I will be where you already put me.
Let's hope and pray.

This is very inspirational and offers encouragement to others who may be undergoing physical therapy. I like your determination as you describe your progress. You are showing it takes patience. I remember after I had hip replacement surgery the physical therapist had me practice getting into a car, and I was able to do it. (A regular car, not a jeep or van.) I also like that you want to accomplish your goals with style. judi

Jesse:
Your story is excellent and heartwarming. Learning to walk again is sometimes a slow, tedious process.
You write clearly of your struggles and successes; I hope you will be able to walk again without aid. I eventually did.
Have a great holiday season, Jesse.
Blessings for health and happiness,
Cindy

Good morning, Cindy. Thanks for your encouraging review. I will keep on keeping on until I can walk freely without aid but until that day I will progress slowly and surely. Thanks for the blessings of health and happiness. I wish the same for you.

I don't know where you are coming from, but I like where you are headed. You have a plan and a goal, and the determination to reach it and beyond. This is a good story, reminding us that slow and steady steps get us there whether we are talking about walking or writing. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

I think it's a great story of perseverance and overcoming the obstacles of life with hope and dignity. We are all rooting for you and your desire to get out of that apartment and into the wide world that for now you can only out of the window. The image of the rain is a great metaphor for the moments of despair we all feel in these struggles. But the image of the man walking through the rain out to the car speaks of human love of life and the desire to get out there and live it, no matter what. estory

Thanks, my friend you have captured the essence of the metaphors I chose to tell all of those in Fanstory how I will succeed at walking and even running as fast as I can!
Thanks for getting the gist of this piece.

Hi Jesse,
You are stuffed with positivity and optimism, and let me tell you, these are the true healing power! You will do it, and sooner than you believe, soon it will be a bad memory, nothing more. I understand this accident was extremely serious and could have devastating consequences. You are blessed to have come out of this alive. My friend, who is also an author, fell off her stairs and had a Traumatic Brain Injury. She is still doing rehab, cannot write an email without 20 mistakes, she spells her name funny and it's been 9 months! She has 6-8 appointments at the hospital PER WEEK. Just to assure you that you will be doing awesome in a few weeks or months.
Blessings,
Mario

Congratulations!!! Jesse, good work. I agree with you, one step at a time becomes routine and routine becomes habit, and set habits becomes success. You'll be running at the right time.
