Your writing is so well organized and well done that it is easy to whip through 2000 words like I'm right there lived the moments with your characters. I can say that about only a few people on Fanstory. You are a very talented writer.

"You're left eye's almost swelled shut" - couple things here, you're should be your and maybe swollen for swelled?
The description of how the abuse escalated is spot on in most cases including Ali blaming herself.
Griffin better hope Cord does not get his hands on him! That situation could get U-G-L-Y real quick.

Thank you for the catches. I know the difference between you're and your but my fingers automatically type you're and for some reason I read right over it. I have argued with myself over swollen and swelled. Since you mentioned it I changed it. Thank you for the help. I appreciate it.

Super dialogue here. Really top notch, in this intimate conversation between Cord and Ali as he digs into how this physical abuse from her ex started. You dig into all these issues in this chapter, of how hard it is for women to recognize what is happening to them, how hard it is to break out of those relationships, maybe to believe that the love they once believed in is rooted in evil and psychosis. You have some clearly defined characters, the vulnerable victim, the soft hearted compassionate man who is coming to love and protect her. All his emotions seem to be seething within him; feelings for Ali and his anger boiling against the ex. Lots of polish on this as well. This could be another TV script. estory

The exam by Cord was tactfully done. He covered all the injuries just as he should have.
Incidentally, on the ranch where I was raised, we always went to the local vet, and never drove the 42 miles into town to see an MD.
I hope you get some answers on John, many things are beyond the current medical knowledge.

So far, John is in Hospice, and we are waiting. Thank you for asking. Yes, Ali has some rebuilding. I was afraid, I'd get some backlash because Cord's vet, but I have not. Thank you for the kind review.
