Great rhyming and beautiful harmony, a pleasure to read. I love the way you write, and the pictures you paint. A person can almost imagine standing by that mountain stream, listening to a delightful song.

This a beautifully written poem. The flow, imagery, and rhymes are excellent. And who is this beauty across the stream with a wonderous voice that beseeched you so? Will you ever see her and know? Excellent work. Terry.

There are many of couplets that have that wow factor but here and there I feel as if my wheels get slowed by mire and mud, like stanza one has an extra word on lines two that seem superfluous (with voice still), yet then again it could simply be the way I read. Well done, and deserving of being recognized.

This poem reminds me of a work by Wordsworth on a similar subject. The form and meter are well managed. The poem suggests the heart ache of lost love, often the subject of the Romantics.

A lovely, expressive romance poem, told in your usual rolling meter and sweet rhyming. Your piece reflects those of an earlier era in setting, theme and style and I am not surprised to see it has garnered a wealth of positive reviews already.
Lovely work!

Oh, why did no man ever speak to me that way? Where were you ... plenty of years ago??? Lol
That's such a beautiful poem. Someone must have been swept right off her feet! ð???

This verse explores the intrinsic nature of self.
I found it provocative and timely.
We find ourselves in a chaotic world, where it is essential to know thy self in order to cope.
The flow from rhyme to rhyme, thought to thought, is effortless and a pleasure to read.
Thank you for sharing.

Applauds, envy and sheer delight are my review words for this. I read it, went back again 'n again to dissect verses and feel the need to know more of this lass. Easy, I know you explore other avenues (side roads) of poetry but damn this is your wheelhouse.
Cheers,
John

This is one of your best ones, Everett. I'm not too sure where this Maiden is, or if she is a dream, but your rhyme and choice of phrases are excellent.
