That's ok, as I am just so tickled that you thought of me in the first place. Besides it makes the fun last that much longer. I will have fun watching that game, because I don't know if I told you, but my best friend here is first cousin to #87 that they call the hawk. Anyway he is from Detroit Lions and just got traded to the Vikings. Our friends are ecstatic over this and now as her best friend of 40 years, guess who will get treated to many Vikings games, complements from receiver the hawk himself.
Not bragging, but the trade just happened a couple weeks ago, so it is pretty exciting. But what I look forward to the most is what one of my dearest friend has sent me. I am excited!! Also for the game Sunday. I think the Vikes may have their butts handed to them on a Texas size gurney. Lol

Regardless, it gave you a warm fuzzy feeling for the day; something every person likes to have now and then to life their sports. Feeling that special love is the best/// for me, I miss my husband's laughter. He always put a smile on my face and a romantic warmth in my heart. Well done!

Regardless, it gave you a warm fuzzy feeling for the day; something every person likes to have now and then to life their sports. Feeling that special love is the best/// for me, I miss my husband's laughter. He always put a smile on my face and a romantic warmth in my heart. Well done!

If what starts as a love poem ends in an ironic, unromantic, humorous twist, it doesn't make sense to write the poem to rival Shakespeare or Shelley. And it works that this poem has the childish love poem lilt of a Hallmark card; the surprise between premise and outcome probably works better when innocence, and not sophistication, encounters reality.
In actuality, I don't think a car doing a u-turn in a driveway covered in snow could make this design, but occasionally events have unexpected outcomes, and plus, who cares? We get the joke.

Awe Frank, as always you are one step ahead of me. With a strict syllable count and meter, I was limited to how I phrased this, but it obviously could not have been from one car. That was really funny. I enjoyed the wit and humor of the poet and was able to capture effectively in those poetic lines. To convey a message well to the readers despite the limited medium of poetry is indicative of the gift of the poet. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed your fun sonnet and it's playful because with the picture, the narrator saw a romantic sign given by her husband in the driveway. In the third stanza where a sonnet typically makes a switch, you show us that was a misunderstanding. Apparently, a turning car can leave hearts in the driveway! Lol. Best wishes in the contest!

Isn't it just like us women to see what we want to see, that the man we adore, has done something special just for us... something sweet. Then we find out it was all in our heads. He wouldn't know sweet if it bit him in the butt. He wouldn't know how to do something special if special presented itself to him with a sledgehammer over the head! Men turn around in the driveway. They don't make us interlocking hearts, no matter how much we want them to.
