I liked the way Alexandra really showed her mettle here, and stuck out for more money than the ladies ever thought they'd get. But it's to be paid out over more than eight years if I calculate right - inflation will make it worth less than it seems. Kate xx

Pat's sins are coming home to bite him. It's just too bad Lisa has to suffer. I see Pat making more problems for Alex until he gets jailed. And there is always Alan lurking in the background. Really good story that is well-written and proofed.

Excellent, excellent!! You did a great job as always. Another complication has been added. I hope Lisa doesn't cave to that jerk just because she's pregant. Ready to read more. Have a great afternoon. Shirley

I know your choices, long is not essentially unmanageable indeed, a skilled writer knows how to manage courteously; I enjoyed the read, future moments are ever unforeseeable; truth is stranger than fiction; I like the sentiment and professional expression in orderly approaches and sentiment; well said, well done, post god speed more, share post not 4 self-joy-pride but 4 God and readers worldwide Alcreator Litt Dear (DR)

We see the quiet lawyer playing hard ball in this episode. I liked the dialogue, as always it was realistic and chocked full of emotions. All the tension in the negotiations was pulled as tight as it could go. We see Pat struggling with the money he owes, trying to squirm out of it. We see the girl struggling with the pregnancy and coming to terms with it, and Alexandra stepping up to the plate again. The characters are so well defined here, and this had a lot of polish on it. This would make a great tv script. estory

Wow, Alexandra is a powerhouse! I think she has Perry Mason beat over the kinds of strategies she uses. Of course, it helps to have DNA evidence and looks like Lisa is carrying it, too! Great job with this post!
Suggestions:
but I'll take him to trail before (trial)
I'm sure all the town's people will enjoy (townspeople)

What an exceptional chapter. I don't know if your knowledge of law and court proceedings comes from research or you have legal experience, but there is a strong feeling of authenticity in this chapter. And this entire book, for my money, is the best you've written to date.

Thank you for the encouragement. I needed it today. I had one reviewer tell me it was nowhere close to realistic and couldn't even finish reading it, because it was so bad.

Oh, Barbara, I'm so sorry for you. You should know though that the reviewer was working with a bellyful of envy. Those were the words you read. No one says those types of things otherwise. Keep your chin up!

Oh wow, that was a great twist of events. Just when Alex had Pat over a barrel, Lisa turns up pregnant by that skunk. But fainting, I hope she doesn't lose the child. Great job, Barbara!

You really are such a clever writer Barbara. You've got a good legal mind my friend, but also you have a flair for the dramatic, and the finish of this episode throws it into a "must read" category, I'm amazed how God gifts us in differing ways, giving us space in this world and beyond. Well done, blessings Roy
Typo : I'll take him to (trail) trial?

Great handling of the legal details and getting the $100,000 settlement for the women Rogers raped. If there's a warrant for a search of his office, I hope evidence will turn up. He'd going to be a hard one to nail. Lisa's pregnancy is another problem to deal with. Rogers is sure to deny that the baby is his. He'll certainly make a fuss about paying out any more money. I wonder what he'll do to try to weasel out of paying. It certainly complicates things for Ali in trying to reach a settlement. She's going a geaat job with her lawyering. In the fifth paragraph, you wrote trail insteead of trial. judi
