I'd like to say it's all foreign to me...but let's face it, most women make that extra-special effort when a particular gent has caught our eye! Love the description of Emmy preparing for work in a whole new way...
I think you referred to a cafe / and then a cafe' ~~ I'd suggest you choose one (although I'd frequent either...)
It's no coincidence that many a tough case has been broken wide open by loose lips and astute ears. Smythe, too, has given yet another hint about those "rocks" of fame and fortune!
I'm having fun binging!

Now, I can see what this young Officer Smythe is up to, and in a way you can't blame him. Police don't get paid what they deserve, but I think he's got himself into a lot of trouble going to Costello, there is usually a nice bullet with the poor guys name on it, not a nice financial pay-off. Thank you, Teri. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have you following my story and enjoying it. I wasn't sure I could return to writing after my hiatus, but the kindness and reassurance from everyone has helped so much. Thanks so much for the corrections and for continuing to read. I fear Officer Terrence put dollar signs ahead of integrity, something many tend to do when they feel trapped pr at a dead end.
