Not even life in the ocean survived the robot's destruction. Just to be certain he did recognizance of the earth to make sure that the destruction was complete. Then he heard a ping.
You keep our interest by leaving us wondering what comes next.
Brilliant and creative. I look forward to reading the next chapter.
Best wishes,
Mary

It sounds like we could all be in trouble here, but the robot has landed in a remote area on earth and I am wondering where he could be? I expect it has to be in America somewhere? He he he, love Dolly x

Go on Bill, try India or China or even Australia! A robot would fit in well with the Aussies, they wouldn?t even think it was strange! Ha ha ha, love Dolly x

Woohoo! You pay a tidy sum. Prose is my specialty and craft. I know about the Mariana Trench. I was an AW and tracked submarines in oceans. (Anti Submarine Warfare Operator.) Different types of subs have different crush depths.

Some people speculate that flight 19 ditched into the ocean due to gases rises from air pockets or bubbles rising. The gases stalled the engines. That one hypothesis. Earthquakes can probably release pockets of trapped gas beneath the Earth's mantle. I'm familiar with the Indian ocean. Yeah, I pinged a lot of active sonobuoys while tracking submarines. The pinging sound produces a lot of decibels. Is Robot 3.7 fact or fiction? I'm not familiar. Intriguing story. Educational. Count your lucky stars!

This is future fiction. Earth has been zapped and left lifeless. Robot is ensuring that nothing remains before terraforming. After signaling there is no life, it receives a return ping indicating there is life.

A ping, Bill? Is it a life form ping? Is there hope for us yet?? Did we find a way to survive a tragic demise? (I've only read the last couple of chapters. Should I go back? Should I get caught up? Idk... it's election night and I'm hoping that the blood moon tonight wasn't a prediction of things to come...

There are only three sections so far, Susan: Robot Saves the Day, where it is sent and detonates on Earth; Robot Paves the Way; where another robot is sent, and the focus is more on the senders; and Robot on the Ground.

Uh oh, Bill, where you hiding? I somehow knew, I just knew that you would be the one someone to thwart the Robot's mission. I hope you know that you will not be able to hide indefinitely. He will find you, and then, and then? Unh, unh, and then along will come Jones. Ha, ha ha.

It's not me, though that would be funny.

I thought so. I am still grinning at the thought.

Proof of life is hard to find, even in my morning scan. A ping is good. I heard one today. A delightful chapter for your book, always with a smile. Sending you my best today as always,

What an excellent post, no life in the ocean, and now no life above it either. This would have been a great entry in a flash fiction contest, this is beautifully written my friend, well done Bill, great job, blessings Roy

This could be a splendid material for a short movie or even an animated movie. This ping at the end is so ominous. I suppose the poor little robot can be now on the verge of going up in flames or exploding. Poor robot :)

Whoa. Nothing? No life when the oceans are normally teeming with life forms? Not even sponges or coral? Yikes! Whatever happened? But then there was that one ping. I hope it's not a roach...
