Your humor is sterling!! I loved every bit of this raucously written tale and thought the woman was going to be gullible there for a minute. So well done and well written, Bill. Great job.

Quirky and funny story. It is very well written, fast paced, with acute dialogue and an interesting and unexpected climax. Nicely done, Bill!!!

I've run into people like that. I walk away. Your story is amusing, especially with the name thing and the outrageous charges. Sadly, there are people just about that bad trying to sell something you don't need. Women run into that a lot.

Very well done! Mrs Johnson is a splendid example of a crooked opportunist. I liked the motto, "Never give a sucker an even break." That is her credo in life.

Neat twist! Interesting and funny dialogue exchange, "Mrs. Johnathon, Jackson, Jujubean," and those misnomers should have given me a clue to what was coming.
However, I did have an experience similar to your story. My wife took our Chevrolet pickup to the garage for a tire rotation and she called me and said that the mechanic called and had our pickup on the rack and the front shock absorbers were leaking and needed to be replaced. I called the guy and told him to leave the truck up, and I was on the way to look at the shocks. When I got there, the truck was parked outside, tires rotated, and the mechanic was not available. The owner said there was no charge. I gave a report to the BBB.
Good story.

Yes. This piece is funny. It's good to beat them in their own game. Steal a car when he is talking to you about all the additional work you need for your Minivan (SUV). How can he check her credit if he didn't know her full name and can remember her last name? I think he was lying.

Well done.
