I have no idea how you felt, but I bet you felt tired and perhaps angry being you had to halt your ongoing life on the street. Life can be sometimes difficult, but I pray that the next chapter will be a different outcome for you.

You certainly have me hooked on your story. I hope you find a way out of this problem, but only time will tell. I am ready to read the next chapter. Enjoy your Sunday evening. Shirley

I guess, we all remember vividly the first time we're picked up by the law. Well, at least those of us that have been and are willing to admit it. LOL. Thanks for sharing another great chapter. Sorry I was so slow in reviewing, I just had to hold it the better part of the week to reward it properly. Thanks for sharing.

Hi,
Whilst I'm a stickler for the law I couldn't resist barracking for you in the shadows. Hell, I almost felt the heat myself.
You did a great job of drawing me into your predicament, running alongside you, egging you on AND almost escaping too.
Thoroughly engaging and well written.
Blessings
Shirley

So sad to be hounded like that. A pity none of them ever asked why you didn't want to go back there, why you were so desperate to escape! Very well written, and I always look forward to the next chapter although the story itself makes me very sad.

Holy cats Brett,
I was hoping you'd get away. Weren't there any alleys or stores you could have ducked in to? Why the heck were the cops so interested in putting you back there anyway? Didn't they have real criminals to pursue? I'm looking forward to the next episode. This is exciting, and a little scary.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Okay, They caught him. I hope he opens up and tells them what goes on at the orphanage, I'm talking about why he ran away.
Once in a whilethere is a kind hearted person who will listen to what children have to say. Good jon Brett. Nancy:):)

Excellent song to set the tone for this chapter. Great description of the effort to escape the law. Neither alternative is good for the young fugitive. If he goes back to Hermitage, things will be even worse for him now. If he had managed to avoid capture, what would he as a juvenile on his own, be able to do? What a compelling story! Spelling: definitely, separated. I know you couldn't expect after what the boy has been through, but he'd fare better if he adjusted his attitude. That's making things worse for him. judi

You're very welcome. This is a powerful story. I hope the narrator will realize that not everyone is against him. He's too young to go it alone. judi

I was rooting for you, Brett! I don't want to go back to Hermitage Hall either. :) But I'm sure you'll take us out again, first chance you get. Again, you imagery takes us right along with you. I like the encounter with the car, and the surprise brick wall. Well done.
