It is good that these footprints aren't lost walking towards the seas. The words and artwork seems to impart the meaning that some of the things we do are erased and/or forgotten in the tides of life.
Congrats on placing third in the contest.

Thank you Joan. That 3rd came as a surprise as I rarely place in the site sponsored contests.

You're welcome. It was well deserved.

Yes sir! All lives before, all lives after, will go into that vast beyond and after just a few years, truly be forgotten forever. Even though it will take longer, I believe that even those like Shakespeare and Mozart's footprints will be washed to nothing. Excellent words in so few syllables.

2-4-2 poems are so difficult, but I think you nailed it. I love the picture you chose and the simple imagery your poem invokes. Good luck in the contest! - Liz

Your contest entry, read well, Wils.
Great job with the syllable count and
making a readable poem from 8 syllables.
The image was perfect. The last line seemed
to be a play on the word 'sea.'
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

They've always been quite popular that great poem "footprints" never knew who wrote it though, but we can be grateful that they did, all a little envious though. Beautifully written 2/4/2 poem my friend, good luck, blessings Roy

I enjoyed reading your 2-4-2 poem. It was a lovely thought and image of the footprints lost to sea. Thank you so much for sharing, and best wishes to you.
