This work has reached the exceptional level

You only listed three of The five you could take !
but you kept going back in! This should be disqualified for continuing ti rush back into the fire, the smoke from the fire would have gotten to you or killed yourself stopping to collect your doll collection.

I dispute this.

Hi there. I'm not quite sure how to take your review. If you are upset with what I wrote or if you're joking. However I named five things that I found and obviously didn't leave them there if they were that important to me.
They were my computer, iPads, precious moment dolls, Bible and drawings that my grandkids drew. I appreciate very much your six stars and I thank you very much.

Well done author. I liked the way you were confronted with the various thoughts of what we all value. A fire would quickly force one to confront what they value. Good luck in the contest.
Have a blessed day.

Thank you so much Olivanne. I think the hardest of all those things that I talked about in my poem was to get the folder of the silly little drawing that my grandchildren had made for me throughout the years. Those are of no value to anyone else, but are priceless to me. So knowing that pHowever my message is something that I would hope I remember if that ever occurred. Thank you for your kind comments, as I love that you and so many others are on the same page with your faith and values.
Thank you again my friend! Also thanks for the kind wishes for the contest. It's up for vote right now so we'll see how it goes.

Yes, you pinpoint what is the most important things to take when facing a fire. Old pictures and other memorabilia can never be replaced. Computers can. I was facing that when fires were threatening my village this summer. I only packed some few valuable things into my car ready to go with a bag of clothes a valuable house pa papers. Your poem brought it all back. Good luck. Ulla:)))

Thanks so much Ulla. What a horrifying experience that had to be for you. I could feel my heart pounding harder just by reading it. I suppose this would bring it all back to you......... But I truly appreciate your very lovely review and comments. I am pretty sure that I am too big of a coward to ever run into a burning building, even to get my treasured drawings from my grandkids. However your ordeal and this has made me think to scan them and put them into my system so I never have to worry about it. Thanks again my dear friend.

I love the space between the lines. It makes this beautiful, meaningful poem much easier to read. Your message is powerful, as your poem builds in suspense. The rhythm and flow makes it easy to read, while your choice of words are thought provoking. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

Good luck in the contest. I loved the message at the end of this poem, so straight forward and to my way of thinking true. We all save our own lives and those of others everyday by being respectful and careful, but in times of great fear, stress and danger, we tend to forget that life is the most important thing. It makes so much sense that given time and hindsight (going back), we would remember the most important thing. Although the rhythm of the poem is a little sing-song, it seems to me, the rhyme seemed so natural, not forced or contrived it made up for it. A poem is a gift to the reader and you gave a hopeful message.

A nice account of what should be valued in life. A really clever idea of putting a couplet of advice between the main stanzas of the poem. Good luck in the contest.
