Hello author, I love this. You did a great job on using the specified word list. Very creative, very clever. I especially liked:

We still have beauty and some gleam
Just takes a lot mor

e wrinkle cream

(And some of us have more "area" to cover than others. Yes, it's true.
Cough, cough.)

Also:
That doesn't mean that I'm a dwarf

(Some of us just might end of being a dwarf. I use to be 5 ft. tall. I'm not so sure anymore. The shelves in the cabinet are getting higher and the floor is getting closer - lol.)

Love the photo. I just want to be "Bitchy." BTW, I never had a hot flash ever! Lucky me. No itching either, so "Bitchy" fits me just right.
A fun poem. LateBloomer

WHAT.??? No Hotflash?? How did you luck out? I still get them, or maybe it's called fevers now! I started menopause at 38 and I had hot flashes ever since. There are only 2 words for them, evil and wicked? So you know what, you go right ahead and be as bitchy as you want! Serves you right!
Oops, you don't know me, but you can still be bitchy. Cause I got your six stars and I am very thankful and happy for that. Thanks! ; )

Sorry I went thru Menopause with no ill affects. I also never had morning sickness when I was pregnant. I'm sure I got my share of "other" stuff along the way - lol. LB

Well, you got my vote. This was catchy, relatable and humorous. The witch's spell belly I'm going to remember that. Lol. I always tell my husband that we need a bigger bathroom mirror because that fat lady is always stepping in front if me. Great job on this.

Lol, Y'know Gretchen, I remember at about 30 years old I saw a woman who had a bigger belly, but then I saw she was older and I thought not me, I won't let that happen. I'm not very big but my stomach is like if I were 4 months pregnant. And there's nothing we can do about it. That's the worse!.
Anyway, thanks for all the fun things you had to say about my poem.
You are so kind my dear friend!

Haha, this was great, Mystery Author. For those not yet
there, you spelled it out perfectly for them. For those
there--so true, and for those past, I'm thinking they're
saying their prayers. The picture was hilarious. Your words
were descriptive, the flow was smooth, and the message
was clear. The required words fit in seamlessly.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

You used all the required words in the most creative and imaginative way. Many women of a certain age can relate to those awful dwarfs, and more women can relate to your insightful poem. You took a subject which represents discomfort for some, and turned it into delightful and humorous poetry. Best wishes in the contest.

Thanks so much my sweet friend Teri! Every once in a while I write a little shocker but mostly love to hear the laughter, as I do enjoy lighthearted poetry the most. Thanks for your kind words my dear friend!

You got it right first time! Perfect, and I do love that picture. Men don't understand what we women go through having the menopause, I wish they suffered something similar! I loved your poem, it made me laugh, and you used all the words perfectly. Well done and good luck! :)) Sandra

Haha Sandra, you crack me up! Once my husband told me that my HATEFUL Hot flashes couldn't be that bad!. So I told him I would strap an extremely frozen ice pack around his privates with no protection around it and let him wear that all night and see how well he sleeps at night during extreme temps! Thanks so much for your fun comments my dear friend!

I just love this, and can relate. The use of the words for the contest was done very well. The rhyming must have been hard to do. I can relate to this poem since I have gone though menopause. Good luck with the contest. Well done.

Thanks so much my friend! I figured there'd be some who could relate that even I'm putting the picture down, I'm explaining that I have most of the same things going on. It is truly more fun to laugh at things rather than complain, isn't it? Thanks for your fun and kind comments my friend.
I hate always calling you my friend, even tho you are, lol. Do you mind me asking what it is?

Sandra, in that case you are already in my poem for the FS lunch. I was trying to find room for all my favorites, but whenever there are duplicates it would be so confusing. So I know that I have three good friends called Sandra, so what I wrote pertains to each of you. I have duplicates w others and have told them the same thing. And besides they are all fictional. Yet didn't want to forget anyone that I've come to just love to pieces. So anyway that why I asked your name. You are part of the party called
    'Lunch with the FS Girls'
    I hope you had fun!

Ohhhhh, my apologies! Thank you for those beautiful six stars as I appreciated it so very much. I just got busy talking and forgot for a few minutes. Thank again, Sandra!

Very funny poem. It seems that the experience is a little bit different for every woman. Now that men can have babies, I wonder if they will also experience menopause. After all, it was named after them, right? (Etymology not supported by data.) Did you intend to make husbands plural in the second to last line, or is that a typo?

Thanks Sue! Wasn't there a movie once w Arnold Schwarzenegger trying to make that baby. Actually the thought that they could do it makes my stomach Iill. Yesterday nothing would make me happier then to show my husband the pain and the joy. And if they make it so men can, then they better let them go through pms and menopause. They are all part of being a woman. That's how God said it would be and that's what's right to me. Besides they wouldn't like if they heard that pms stands for putting up with men's shit.
Anyway thanks for the great review and comments my friend!

You are most welcome. Men will never have babies. Sadly, neither will all the young girls opting for transition-affirming surgery. The world is upside down.

This is an excellent post, and hilariously funny, the narrative flows quite well, the aabb rhyming is concise, the descriptive text expresses all the things that can happen during menopausal consequences, beautifully written my friend, required words all there. blessings Roy

lol, Roy you are my first male reviewer. It takes a true gentleman who has always been respectful of what his wife has endured to give the beautiful gift of children and the changes to our bodies after. That is for sure you, my friend! I wouldn't expect any less. But thank you for the fun comments too and for seeing the humor that I was going with. Much appreciated Roy!
