This was another great, very involved and descriptive-on-world-events, post. Check for more new re-promotions. Just a couple of small errors. Interior Design class had set up an[d] interview for her

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you saw those typos. I'm enjoying reading your stories as well.

I remember my parents telling me to never co-sign for anything should my children ask. You learned the hard way! Kudos to you for using Don as free labor. You sound like a pack rat, am I right? I enjoyed reading how you salvaged what you could, how you built in the stairs, etc. Christi and Connie are making out well in this post. Thanks for including what is going on in the world.

Thank you for the review and lovely stars. Yes, I'm a pack rat. I was taught never to waste anything and I hate having to part with things I might find a use for. We knew co-signing was a bad idea and paid off the loans before having to pay interest. They did make a couple of payment before they defaulted.

I think all these world disasters are the result of man's lack of good stewardship of our planet, it wouldn't do for people to believe that, because it brings down blame on both leaders and citizens alike, it would be a hard pill to swallow, I can remember having my songs played on radio, well done Beth, excellent episode, blessings Roy

Thank you for the review and your excellent comments. I just saw a article on line about something they are calling a doomsday glacier that is about to melt in Antarctica and that it will raise sea levels ten feet.

Wow that is dramatic we have some low lying areas here, but some of the islands would be sunk.

So, what happened with the sunroom? Did it ever get done? The tools can't still be on the floor in the torn-up walk-in closet after 16 years? Surely not.

The story continues. There have been 166 chapters all ready. It a series, not a short story. Thank for stopping by and reviewing this chapter.

Again, thank you for sharing your memoirs with us. I am very familiar with the wars in Iraq. My husband was over there for both of them. I enjoyed reading and didn't find any errors.

You certainly had a very active, interesting life, Beth. How you can remember all of it so clearly is a mystery to me.
You know how to keep the reader involved and that is not an easy task for an Author. Well done, Dear. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy, My memory of more recent years isn't that clear. I'm not sure I remember what I did yesterday. LOL

Sometimes being forced to get rid of some of our accumulated possessions that we really no longer need, Beth, so maybe work on the sunroom might have been a good thing. :) It seems things were starting to look up for your kids, at this point. Thanks again for reminding of the history unfolding during that time too.
One little clarification:

Thank you Judy, There were always ups and downs with the kids and all of us. The sunroom was a good thing, and I did need to be forced to get rid of unnecessary items. Actually I could use some motivation in that direction right now. I seem to accumulate a lot of things I don't need.

You?re most welcome, Beth. It?s very easy to accumulate. I got used to cleaning out when I lived alone, in smaller places.

I was there for two major hurricanes in Florida, and two in Louisiana. Each time we had a hurricane party and toughed things out. Luckily, I could pack up and leave soon as the weather subsided, unlike those who lived their year 'round. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Yes I know about hurricanes too because I spent 17 years in New Orleans. Luckily, I left before Katrina. That wasn't one to party with. Thanks for the review.

I'm so sorry that you had to go into so much debt to help your children. I understand it as we're still supporting our 30-year-old. But co-signing a load sounds really scary! It's good that Don is so handy and could do work for you but what a hard thing for you to downsize your closet in half!

Thank you Helen, I tend to blame myself for not working harder at teaching my children more about how to manage money. Two of my four children didn't seem to grasp the concept and it hard to change bad habits. We did learn to really appreciate the sunroom. We called it the Heaven room.

I see that you are a book lover like me. I had to chuckle at that part and the building of the bookshelves. Another nice family diary entry for your family. Well done.
