Hi Debi, I'm finally getting caught up. Christmas is magical, but the work of a mother and grandmother is never done. I especially liked:
While hubby snoozes in his chair
With lots of snoring and not a care
And I look on with a scowling burn
(Ditto ... here)
It's so much work I could use help
I should report the guy to Yelp
(Ohhhhh, that's a good one. I think I'll report my hubby to Yelp as well.)
Well chosen artwork choice. A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

You are so awesome! Thank you so much for the great review and those fun comments & words! I truly appreciate your generous six stars my beautiful sis and bff! You are the first one to get the yelp comment. And nobody else seemed to get that from Glen I know from years of past, that his gift will be practical and it will last! BORING! .LOL! Since we haven't shared much of our pics, that photo was my last Christmas and if you look close all those gifts that look like books were from the book that I had made for every person in my family. I don't think I have ever told you about them and will explain later. So thank you so very much for your awesome (package) deal for my Christmas poem. You are the Best!

Debi,
Nice humorous poem, touting some of the less fun things about Christmas.
Great rhyme and photo.
Taking the tree down after Christmas is no fun, either.
Nice work.
Good luck.
Blessings,
Cindy

Oh but Cindy, I do feel joy doing it all because it's such a cheerful season. But real life isn't funny, Y'know? And if you ever see my husband's wrapping jobs, you'd probably want him to keep snoozing . But everything else is fun as long as you start early enough. Thanks my dear friend for your lovely review and comments!
And although it's our money, he does pay the bill.

Thanks my friend, for your kind review and fun comments about my poem. However it is only part truth as my husband is not good at wrapping so I'd rather he just snooze. However he does get the bill. Thanks again my friend

This humorous poem, My Christmas Dilemma, is a fun and probably true description of the seemingly one-sided rush to please the spouse.

Thanks for a fun poem about a part of the holidays that most women can identify with. May I suggest those lovely gift bags and tissue paper to alleviate the toil of wrapping. Though they are an initial investment, they can be used over year after year. I really like that you want to report your husband to Yelp. Also the ending is great.
. "From him I know, from years of past" know you need the "of" for meter, but it messes with the flow as it is an unusual wording.

Hi Katie, I thank you so much for the lovely review and comments about this poem. I agree with you completely about that line. I even thought about deleting it. Do you think any woman gets that ironic man part; from him I always get something practical that is made well. Thanks for the toaster kind of thing??? Yay, it will last forever, but wish I liked it. Haha!
Not sure women picked up on that, although I thought it to be comical. Anyway I will work on that line to make it sound better. That part is true but if you saw my husband's wrapping you'd see why I actually rather see him snooze. However, he really did pay the bill!
Can you believe that I decided at midnight to take the last spot but forgot to look that the deadline was in 3 hours. So I made it and that was what I came with. ....... Thanks again my dear friend!

Is it time to make our Christmas List Debi? Our local shops have Christmas cards already and time is always making us strive forward and never back, a sweet natured poem, love Dolly x

Thanks Dolly. I did something stupid by entering before looking at the deadline, only to find out it was in 3 hours, and that was at midnight..
so I could only think of Christmas for some reason. But I made the deadline and obviously real life isn't very funny so I made it up as I wrote. The true parts were ordering all the gifts and wrapping, which I do a few everyday and if you saw how my husband wraps, you'd see that I actually would rather he keep snoozing. Lol. However he did pay the bill! And it was a fun poem to write, so I was surprised that it even took 3rd place as there were so many good ones. And I thank you for your lovely words and review my beautiful friend!

Neat poem. Gets me all excited for Christmas.
I make detailed lists and make sure every kid gets the same number of gifts within the approximate same price range. I don't want anyone to ever say "His is better than mine." or "She got more than I did."
Of course, most of that exercise is behind me now since all of my kids are gone, married and planning their own Christmases. But I still have my lists from years back and I will even look at them from time to time just to remind me of how much fun the planning and preparation actually was.
Your very last line is the best one yet.
Fun read Debi.

Thanks Gary for your kind review and comments for my half true and half fiction poem. Lol, I have seen his wrapping jobs each year when he wraps mine and I would rather he snooze. Besides I always start early because we have many more now to shop for, kids, their spouses and 6 grandkids, and we are pretty generous at Christmas. We get together as a family every year on Christmas Eve, go to Church, then go to my oldest daughter's house, have a feast, open gifts and then the younger kids play while we shake dice. We all bring one white elephant and a $25. wrapped gifts & put them in the middle of the table & shake dice for them. After so many minutes you open the ones you got and then for 10 more minutes shake and steal. It is a lot of fun and Oops, sorry I kinda over shared! However, lol, he does get the bill!

LOL, I laughed before I knew this was for a contest to make me laugh! So, I am wishing you good luck in the contest. But the way you win contests, you don't need much luck. Good job! Terry.

Haha! I don't mind taking third to a well deserved poem such as Curt had!
At midnight I saw that this contest only had one spot left, so with three hours before deadline, I couldn't resist. This was only partly real because he is not a very good wrapper so I would rather he snoozed. So this is what I came up with, and I couldn't appreciate your fun and kind comments more if I tried!
And BTW; he did get the bill! : )

That's a fun and funny poem. We all know the madness of Holiday gift giving. At least you have help paying the bills! And I must say reading this is good relief from the 90+ heat we are currently experiencing! Good luck in the contest. Evi

Evi, you are very sweet. I saw that there was one last place in this contest at midnight and took it, not looking to see that the deadline was in 3 hours until after I reserved it. So even tho this was only part true, (f you saw my husband's wrapping, I really rather he just keep snoozing) it was true that he did get the bill! Lol
Thank you my dear friend for your very kind review and comments!
