-To use someone who can save money is good planning.
-Seems like marital problems and arguments were happening even before the wedding. Could be seen as red flags against the ceremony.
-Blaming others for your own self-caused problems as Carol did a sign of a need for 12-Step programs.
-Caving in and doing her college work, while she spent time partying, not a good combination.
-Always seems like there is nothing but one issue after another when planning something as important as a wedding.
Ending leads to interest in what problems arose.

Thanks for sharing another interesting chapter in the life of the Shelbys, Beth. I think I might have missed one while I was away, but I'm glad Connie and Charlie have decided to get married. I understand your concerns though. Well done.

Thank you Judy, I appreciate the review. Connie had been wanting to get married for a while. When Charlie made up his mind, she was definitely.

You're very welcome, Beth.

Oh, Beth, thank you so much for drawing my attention to this. I have fallen desperately behind because of all the difficult things happening in my family.
This is so well written and I can't wait to read about the upcoming wedding. It sounds as as if something is going to happen. Ulla:)))

Thank you for reviewing this Ulla. I hope everyone in your family is able to come to terms with this terrible thing that has happened. I know it won't be easy to get past this, but the grieving process won't last forever.

It seems as though things were a little smoother during this time,
Beth. I'm still amazed how Carol put so much blame on you and
hubby after going to therapy. It was interesting for you to share
about the written work you had published. So, wedding preparations
ware made. I hope it all worked out. You ended this part with a great
cliff hanger to entice readers to return.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Poignant episode--it must have been hard at the time to profess to be happy about a wedding when you didn't think the marriage would last. Distressing as to Carol's unfounded resentment and the prospect of contending with Christi. Excellent narration.

Thank you for the review. Charlie and I got along good. He was an interesting person. It disturbed that he and Connie were always arguing. Lenny tried harder to please her but she was terrible teenager and she had some growing up to do.
I didn't pay a lot of attention to what Carol and Christi thought of us. I has some resentment when I grew up too, but we all still loved each other in spite of our differences.

Hi Beth,
I'm glad to see that you're still posting on this book. I've dropped in on it from time to time. Your style is still very informative and makes us feel as though we are a part of your life. I'm glad you've chosen this way to leave a legacy to your children, and still keep your husband a part of your life.
Take care,
Rhonda

Thank you Rhonda. I so glad you drop in from time to time. I don't post this story quite as often as I once did. I'm glad when people tell me they still like reading it.

It?s bittersweet, and I?m glad you?re doing it. I think it?s probably as good for the soul as it is the record of your journey together.

Congratulations on the publications and contest wins!! That's wonderful that you achieved so much while doing so much for your family!!
I think parents are often blamed for unhappiness because we are safe targets. Also, sometimes a happy marriage in the parents may create unrealistic expectations in the kids' expectations of marriages.

Thank you Helen, I think we can all think of times when things in our childhood weren't ideal. There were some wonderful things in my own childhood. but also some things I remember that really affected me deeply at the time. My husband could say the same about his childhood, so Carol's complaints were likely justified from her perspective. We all see things from a slightly different vantage point. By writing this and letting them see things through my eyes is allowing my children to realize things weren't always like they thought.

I hope it will open their eyes. I'm glad you have a great relationships with them now. I know families where they are not in touch with each other and that's so sad.

If nothing else you had an interesting time with your kids, they aren't boring, each child is unique within themselves, blaming things is the normal human nature it seems, we think it gets us off the hook, but of course it doesn't. You've written a fascinating biography of your family, it should be interesting for the generations to come, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy, I appreciate your comments and reviews. My children are interesting and make sure we were never bored. Although they seem to bring a lot of problems on themselves, they always brought us a lot of pleasure as well. Maybe I focus to much on to much on the problems rather than the happy times. It just seems the problems are more interesting.

I?m sure there good times

Wedding are supposed to be fun and blessed times, but for some crazy reason, they seldom if ever turn out that way, or at least not in the ease of how they go. Two people who lover each other so much they could eat each other up. Six months later, they wish they had. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric I appreciate the review and comments. I've never been involved with a wedding where everything went smoothly, For that matter few other occasions run smoothly either. It would likely be boring if they did.
