I don't know where you live, but it must be a challenge to wait so patiently for spring and summer - while trying to plant seeds in slush! It's pretty much the same here in Massachusetts - but not quite as bad. I enjoyed this read, even though I feel your frustration!

Hi June, I love Massachusetts! Have you ever been to the Charleston Naval Yard in Boston? Back in 1997 my dad found out that the ship that he served on in WWll is a National Monument and is docked next to the USS Constitution there. So whenever we go there they treat us like family.
Anyway thank you for the awesome review and kind comments as we seemed to have missed Spring this year. It went right from Winter to Summer. Now its 100 degrees all week here in MN. Thanks again my friend.

Yes, we?ve been to the Constitution with the kids. My husband has a piece of the ship they were selling after they renovated the ship a few years ago. He also has a piece of the Berlin Wall and a piece of coal from the Titanic. Real history nut! lol

That is so awesome! I am proud of my dad and wrote about the ship, my dad and Boston in my Father's Day tribute to him, called, "My Dad's shocking Discovery."
I also pay tribute to the awesome city and Naval Yard. Your husband may like to read it.

I love this poem!!
It is so true about the global warming and how the seasons this year are all lopsided!
The metre used creates a quick tempo with rhymes that are unforced and flow easily.
I especially love the last line, very creative.
Thanks for sharing.

Awe thanks so much Kitty! Spring is my favorite season, so I hated that we went from Winter to Summer, which was disappointing, so I do what I always do and used humor to get through it. And now it's been in the 100+ temps all week. So thankful that we can go to FS and not have to deal w bad weather or high gas prices to hang out w friends like you! Thanks for your awesome review and kind comments!

Haha. Yes. We have weather like this in Minnesota. I think we might have snow last May, April for sure as the March melting. We were skiing in April in the northern Minnesota on the north shore of Lake Superior.
Good luck.

Awesome, another Minneeeeesota sister! I love it! Lol, and I didn't even get into the mid winter minus fifty degree temps. But that's how I handle serious things, is to write humerus poems, because laughing is healthier than complaining. Where are you from. I am in the Buffalo area. In fact I wrote a poem about the Allina Clinic shooting that you might want to see after we can tell our identity. Thank you Ms Jasmine for the awesome review and fun comments!

Wow...you need to move down south, lol. Here's what I liked about your poem:
It's personal and real. It's funny at times! (living with lizards) I can hear the sarcasm/attempt at humor about a season that is tough to deal with. (standing in slush to plant flowers and your last line is hilarious!)
The blue background reinforces that your winter is making you a bit blue AND cold. I like the lack of punctuation. It males this more of a natural rant.
Sometimes the beat is off just because the syllables vary but I enjoyed this!
Well done! Good luck!

Thank you so much Tina! Isn't humor the best way to take on the unpleasant things life can hand you? We really did skip Spring this year, but certainly have a Summer of lots of 100+ temps. I so appreciate your very kind review and comments my friend.

From one extreme to another! It was enjoyable and I could sense your personality in it!

The author's words were interesting, humorous, clear, descriptive and
creative. I found this poem made me smile and reminded me of those
cold winter days in New York! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome and certainly made me think of Spring!

I love the split summer/winter artwork you chose for your writing. I felt the poem was very playful and it seemed you had fun writing it. Great job! I particularly liked the lines below.
Spring, kick that old Jack Frost
right in his cold snowballs [lol]

Thanks for sharing this fun poem about a winter that never seems to roll into Spring..... I feel your pain... Time to move to California. We have spring all year long!

Wow, just wow¬ A wonderful story of the seasons. Summer is so bad here. The temperature hits more than 35 degrees. It's even more difficult to sleep at night, because of the heat.
I kind of miss Winter.

Clever and humorous, and very well written with touches of humour as well as frustration at spring's slow arrival. The rhyme and metre are smooth and effective. Best wishes for your entry.

There's much to enjoy in your spring poem, such as: It's hard to plant your flowers when standing in the slush.
I wonder if you live in New England, as I did for years and this reminds me of our seasons.
I think this is a good entry for the spring writing prompt. An observation:
bout should be 'bout

Thank you so much Pam! Not from New England, but I do love it there.
I am from MN, where Winter can last from late October until mid May.
Isn't humor the best way to take on the unpleasant things life can hand you though? We really did skip Spring this year, but certainly have a Summer of lots of 100+ temps. I so appreciate your very kind review and comments my friend. Thanks so much for catching my error, as those little reminders help so much!
