Very nice Haiku. Evokes a strong sense of forboding, and I'd be interested in it continuing (though I know that's not the point). I would agree with you, it's a 4/6/4, but it flows very well still.

I really favor the Haiku format. Of course, I strive for the classical version, which is difficult to achieve. Maybe you are familiar with the free site: theHaikuFoundation.org. Often their Haiku poems are less than your 4-6-4 (-;
So your imagery is spot on - both in artwork and verse. Your last line is deliciously ominous.

Toggle the advance editor mode at bottom left corner of text box. There you can choose various options for your text, including font size. Just highlight what you want to change and then click on the attribute - voila!

There is a Chinese feel about this poem. I mean in the ancient Chinese tradition of the I Ching, Book of Changes, especially with the sense of forboding with the last line: best left alone. This is good! It should do well.

What a wonderful review. Many of us were scared of the dark as children. Deep night is still not my favorite time of day.
