Inner value is always more important than appearance. It is easier to change one's appearance but difficult to change one's character.

Geez, this has got to be one of the most romantic things I've read in a long time. I dated a lot of men based on their looks when I was young - that didn't go anywhere. My husband and I were friends for two years before we dated - we already respected each other and the rest fell into place.
This is so well written and your feelings are genuinely expressed. I can find nothing wrong with this piece and I will only add that I'm very happy that the two of you found each other.
