Larry is a man after my own heart, an extra few hours sleep being better than a sweaty butt, itchy ankles, and stained green converse. Or do they still make those things? LOL. Thanks for sharing.

They make Converse but now they're too pricey to mow in.

Bill, This is a really cute short story you have penned about the idea of cutting the grass at home and the grass at church. Why not just give up and go back to bed! lol That pretty much solves the problems until he wakes up again and sees the high grass! Best wishes in the contest! Blessings,Teri

...and here's the mowing story you alluded to :-). Gave me a good chuckle - we can always find excuses for avoiding tasks, and mowing is one of the most irritating. By the time I've wrestled the mower out of the shed, I'm usually ready to stop! Thanks for an entertaining read :-).

One of those straight to the point flash fiction pieces. I don't enjoy mowing the lawn either, and the thought of a Monday morning just doesn't fill me with joy. Good stuff. I'm back off to bed too.

Very well done on this short story. I love your reference to Little House on the Prairie, and the opening scene in each episode of Laura running down the hill through the grass. Surprise ending, based on your title.
